I was the original culprit who butchered the Vancouver pictures The picture on my post that is small is actually quite a good pic (which captures the lush green urban park adjacent to downtown), but for some reason it shrunk to a small size when I posted it on bigsoccer. I tried to find some better pictures, but most of them were stock photos that aren't allowed to be posted. Anyways, you found some nice photos. Props to you. It is one of my favorite skylines...
That's the Bay Bridge, in case anyone was confused. It connects San Francisco with the East Bay (Oakland, Berekely, etc).
Wow! Lots of good pics in here. I have many favorites myself, but it all depends on vantagepoint and weather, as to whether I like the skyline. I am from San Diego, which I like OK, but some of the newer development lacks the old charm. But the wiki has a great pic, on a cool, half-cloudy day. Very dramatic with the silvery-gray clouds. Another favorite I've been to is Seattle. And as far as places I've never been, Vancouver. I do have an aunt and uncle there. They live near some famous creek. I like the better pics of Auckland's skyline. Not fond of this pic, but here you go:
my actual vote goes to Vancouver, the height restrictions keep it from having the jarring image of a 400 meter next to 150 meter, and the moutain and water views. Now just to represent, I giver you Pankrac- a recently begun project in Prague similar to La Defence in Paris or the UN city area in Vienna. work in progress, but now Prague will have skyscrapers.... way, way off in the distance.
...and the winner for most inappropriate Youtube music in 2009 goes to: ;-) Might as well throw in some of Dublin while I am at it: Then there's Limerick, our answer to Detroit.
Great necrobump. Some of the images of San Diego aren't showing up, and the ones I can see are not doing it justice. So, here are some nice views of America's Finest City:
From my dorm room in Berkeley, you could see the city of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. It was effing spectacular. I can't find a pic that captures it. This was the closest I could find:
Interesting, Lima is always on my destination candidates for vacations but it never results, I hope to go some day over there.
Saw a great TV doc about Liberty National Golf Club yesterday...great skyline views around the course, and if you hit the angles just right, it looks like the Statue of Liberty is tending the flag for you!
I like my own city of Liverpool's skyline. (England) But I'm going to have to be boring and go for New York's skyline. You gotta love it.
Winston-Salem, North Carolina is my most favorite City!!! http://www.bows-n-ties.com/mens-fas...voted-most-promising-fashion-city-in-america/
