- Chief instructor and senior leader for the German FA. - Germany u15 and u18 coach. - Germany u21 scout. - Director of development for the KFA from 2018 to 2023. He has a lot of experience with youth football.
11:42 Basically Lee Yong-soo's list is off of Kim Pan-gon's list from 4 years ago. Juan Carlos Osorio showing interest with the knt while the KFA is digging through German managers.
korean coach is OK in my honest opinion. because we can win asian cup even with domestic coaches. hope we win the asian cup on the next asian cup with a domestic coach.
Robert Prosinecki on managing the knt: "It would be an honor". https://www.sports-g.com/2023/01/09/단독-크로아티아-전설-프로시네치키-대한민국-감#_enliple He was linked with us 8 years ago, and now expresses his thoughts on if he were to be hired as our manager. Perhaps @Testator can give his opinions on Prosinecki.
Tactically knowledgeable, but has bad life habits. Even as a player, he smoked 3 packs a day, and drank heavily. He'd most likely not control the players' behavior or command respect. I think a manager with a reasonable level of discipline is needed.
Well, his appearance won't look professional to players. I would enjoy seeing a Croat lead the KNT. but I'd prefer Skočić or Ivanković. Actual managers with experience.
Yeah, he was Slaven's assistant for 4 years. Also, whether a manager has experience managing the national team or not shouldn't be viewed as top priority imo (This is regardless of Prosinecki). What's important is if he is up to date with the current footballing system and trend, and if he can not only keep the team as one, but also to have the players play the type of football that they want to play like with what Bento did. We need to remove national team experience and especially WC experience from the criteria.
He definitely grew a massive gut over the years, but I think the players might like his full sleeves though lol, not sure about the public.
Hard to keep the players as one team if they don't respect you. His best period was as assistant manager of my homeland. Later, he never made a big impact. Nenad Bjelica is a good Croatian manager I had forgotten to mention. But Poland NT might be calling him.
Fair enough, but solid experience and success carry respect. Too green, and players might see themselves as above obeying him. Niko Kovač was an extreme example of this, as a CNT manager. TBF, Croats are way more prone to bad discipline than Koreans.
Surprise surprise. According to 김성진, both Bielsa and Halilhodzic have submitted their resume to the KFA sighting that they want to manage the knt.
Not sure how many are listed now, but usually around 10 to 15 names (20 at the most iirc), then narrowed down to roughly 1-5 names. Kim Pan-gon in particular had a list of 10 names under his criteria with Qique being number 1 (Slaven Bilic was also on the list), then we had Lee Yong-soo only going after van Marwijk only to end up making a new list once negotiations broke down.
If it's between Bielsa and Halilhodzic, then 100% Bielsa without a question. I also hear van Bronckhorst and de Boer are also listed but don't take my word for it. Honestly, I'm willing to accept Klinsmann if that's all we end up coming down to [insert reason here].
Michael Mueller will announce his own criteria for selecting PB's successor 2 PM this afternoon. https://n.news.naver.com/sports/general/article/082/0001193049
There's rumor that KFA received letters of attorney from Willy Sagnol and Chris Coleman, respectively.
