Since I seem to be the only one on, I'll kick off the post match thread.

It was wet. Chris was hot. The guys played sharp.

The tifo at the end from the Barra was moving.

Not sure the words "a 4-1 United victory over the Red Bulls with Najar, Hamid, and Bošković as the unused subs" is something I'd ever have expected to hear this season.

    Nice tribute.

Dudar is looking like a superb pick up so far.

Wish I could have been there in person for the tifo tribute. And a revelation of a game. This team that Ben Olsen has is a true great group. Rock Solid Veterans & young promising super stars & some journey men. ((And NAJAR & HAMID are on the bench!!!)

This could be a great season. And every great DCU season has a big Red Bulls / Metro blowout win!

    Hands starting to warm up.

    That was thoroughly entertaining.

Thought Hamdi might finally put one in there at the end.

Well he was a pretty ruthless victor. We'll just have to watch out for grotesque midgets that are a part of the family we hold at arms length now.

...although Dax didn't cause too much trouble did he! :D

Had to travel on business today, but got to the hotel in time for the kickoff. Saw the first half only before going out. Great googly moogly, the Pink Cows looked like DCU in 2010 -- just brutal. Couldn't happen to a nicer group. Henry's dive after Pontius picked his pocket was classic, cheating whiner showed real class by staying down instead of trying to track back into the play.

The play that stood out was Santos going through 3 Pink Cows to put the cross in. I think Ben might be right, he just need to be on the right team.

This was sweet, wish I could have made it to the stadium -- stupid work.

As much as I'd like to see us get consecutive wins, if the team wants to go W-T-W-T-W-T-W through the rest of the season.. I'm good :)

That was one of those games where I felt every time they had the ball within 30 yards I felt a goal was about 80% likely.

    Oh, happy day.

Before leaving the house I said DC 4-1 with Henry getting a consolation goal. I'm not sure I actually believed it when I said it, but I'll take being right.:)

DC just battered them. With better finishing that game is 8 or 9 to 1, easily. That was as good a performance as I've seen from DC in five or six years.

I'm a big Thierry Henry fan, but his face-clutch and drop right before DC's first goal was beyond weak.

That was proper. Pissing rain, derby win.

    Dudar is King.

I've been to Giants Stadium for two 4-1 wins, one of them in the driving rain. When I woke up to rain I was thinking, we got this one.

When we were leaving we got stopped by the police as the Red Bull fans left. All I could do was waive and say thanks; that was entertaining. We'll make love again.

As we were leaving the mezzanine, walking above them, the Red Balls fans could only muster a weak "F$%# DC United!" chant. They're as ********ing lame as their team.

Also noticed a big difference between coaches. Backe was on the bench under the canopy while Olsen was getting soaked along with his players. Doesn't make a difference in the final score but I'd like to think that a player who sees his coach enduring the same crap he is is more likely to fight for him

On the replay there was some contact between Pontius' shoulder and Henry's face, but it was pretty normal contact. His flop and the ensuing goal were actually very artfully captured by ESPN in a slo-mo sequence.

I tweetered that Meara actually kept the score down to non-homicidal proportions.

They showed a lot of class respecting the minute of silence for Chico -- more than some DC United fans did. I have nothing bad to say about them today.

    100% agree.

Would rather see his name on the team sheet than DeRo if I had to choose.

We few...we happy few (and we cold and wet few), saw a genuine beat-down today. I loved the way we attacked, and as the goals came the eagerness to attack increased. Props to the back line for not getting so enthusiastic about the score that they forgot their defensive responsibilities. Yes, Dudar was fine, but notice that he launched as many long balls forward as McDonald - but more of them found their target. The subs were fine. Neal made a great impression in less than a minute after coming on, IIRC.

Bleeding but not fouled on that play. He scored a nice goal, but assisted at least one of ours... or at least got the secondary assist for passing like Brandon McDonald.
