Our Colorado Rapids host the #savethecrew 's of Columbus at the Dick on Saturday at 7PM. After a snow and rain filled week, it should be a beautiful weekend and evening. I am out of town. Post your keys to keeping a winning streak alive, superstitions, thoughts on the game, thoughts on the Crews, and observations Hope you haven't changed your underwear since the before the LA win. If you did, and we loose, it's your fault.
It would be really really really really really really really nice to win two in a row. Prediction: Rapids 2-2 Crew (I don’t want to jinx them )
First key is how the Rapids play on the back line without Abubakar available. He has been effective physically as well as in terms of being an instant leader on the pitch. I am guessing the starters at center back will be Smith and Wynne. On the attack, get Lewis and Nicholson wide and running at the Crew back line. And hope the Kamara has his mojo back.
I come in peace as a Crew fan. I dont have any good feeling of which team will win, I wouldnt be surprised by a 0-0 to 2-2 draw but I completely anticipate Kei dunking on the Crew for at least one goal. Were the opposite of a well-oiled machine right now so you may be able to capitalize. I would also think there is a good chance that if Abubakar has been good for you guys and you want to keep him, that we sell him to you guys for some TAM or a trade. Were deep at CB, even without him. Hoping for a good game!

1-1 draw. Goal by Lewis. Columbus has the second worse offense in the league, but our defense sucks without Abubakar. We saw that against Vancouver, who had the worst offense in the league. I think we're better than we were then but I'm not yet confident enough to predict a win. Plus a special image just for @Rod1916 http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2019/05/the-still-columbus-crew-come-to-town.html
I think Memorial Day weekend is always the first big attendance night of the year for that reason, right?
So much for the lead. Failure to mark. Check. Failure to clear. Check. Ball watching. Check. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
I was gonna say Rapids left side looks week defensively, then they put in a cross from the right that should have been 2-1.
Except for the defensive stupid, the Rapids have had the better of the run of play. This was a good half of soccer. Thought I'd never get to say that this year. IIRC, this is also the first half of soccer this year where no Rapids player had a negative Opta score.
Midfield turnover (Price?). Failure to mark. Ball watching. And the predictable result. There's a lot of work to do with this team.
Price's YC is officially listed as "Extra flag to checker." I think that's PRO-speak for "we'll fill in the blank later."
Our only defender can’t play due to the terms of his loan. We need him desperately right now. [emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]
Great defensive play by Kamara. Maybe he needs to move to the back line? He's played some of the best defense this match. I seem to recall Casey doing that a time or two or ten.
