PBP: Post Hudson Era #3 - Rapids versus Galaxy, Sun. 5/19/19

Only 3 minutes in and our defense looks lost.

Totally disorganized

 

Giving up A LOT of space on D. LA’s already had two decent looks and we’re 5 minutes into the game. We’re just constantly on our heels on defense. I don’t get it.

 

Half shade/half sun games are always annoying to watch

 

No sense of urgency to mark players on defense. Lack of energy on defense.

 

Lewis is REALLY fast

 

For Ibrahimovic being out and all, Tim Howard sure is getting a lot of touches.

 

Yup. At this point we just need LB not to be a disaster.

 

Abubakar is awesome. Head and shoulders better than anyone else we have on defense. By a wide margin. Love him.

 

Lewis has officially earned his Rapids badge with that miss

 

That was encouraging and Badji-like at the same time.

 

That was a nice pass. Oh well!!

Celo thinks he (Lewis) should do better on the finish. Solid insight!!

Great example of Marcelo driving me nuts. What he thinks is a “little mistake,” I think is a “huge mistake.” Not clearing a defensive ball is a huge mistake.

 

Ha! They tried the "send a thruball through the gap in the Rapids line to the untracked runner" but Abubakar sniffed it out and cleared it!

 

Wynne getting beaten cleanly twice in first 25' (I'm about 15' behind)

 

It's a real indication of how the season has gone that we're all pleasantly surprised to see one of our CBs make that play

 

Come on VAR! Just once do us a favor!
