According to www.livescore.tv, the full-time score was Jamaica 1 - US 2. I don't know any more details at this time.
Per ussoccer.com matchtracker: Bocanegra 12 (off a Convey corner kick) Klein 13 (drive from outside the box into the far left of the goal with an assist from MOM Bocanegra) Lowe 54 (30 yard direct kick)
I "watched" the game through match tracker. It was hard to tell really how good anyone did. Bocenegra (sp?) got Chevy man of the match, so it's safe to say he had a good game. In fact, from the match tracker it sounded like everyone on the defense was doing well. Of course I'm sure we'll have the usual people writing on here that Calif, Cherundolo, and Garcia suck and should never be in a US uniform again. I am guessing this will thread won't really take off until after the rebroadcast later tonight. I had match tracker up since I don't get the game on my crappy cable. Scumby
I've seen Boca play both in the middle and on the left for the Fire, and I can't decide where I like him better. In fact, if I had my wish, we'd have four Boca's.
From the matchtracker, it looks like Beasley got hurt and had to be subbed out. Does anyone have any details?
From listening to the audio webcast, it sounded like LD and DMB got pushed around a bit and that the ref lost control in the very end.
Ralston on for Klein (46) =Pablo Yellow Card (54) Cunningham on for Donovan (to unfavorable reaction from home team fans)(78) Vagenas for Beasely (82)
ussoccer.com has a few more details available now. SEE: http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=27859&itype=
according to ussoccer.com: U.S. midfielder DaMarcus Beasley left the match in the 83rd minute with a deep bruise on his right shin.
Dave Dir said thigh contusion, it was one of the other two that kept babling on about charlie horses.
he was already wearing extra padding there... check the argie game... that was the shin that was already injured going into that game
Yes, the second goal was. Boca's pass was from his own 30-35 to the opposite side of the Jamaican penalty box directly onto Klein's run, and Klein's finish was a nice one time half volley, too. Boca with a goal and a beautiful pass like that definitely deserved MOM. Since someone posted a link to a site with the result right on their front page, I'm going to ask: Is the second half worth watching if I know the score? Anything interesting? I'm sleeeeepy and pissed that I know the score. =/
Either way, this was an injury to his shin, not the thigh this time. Charlie Horse makes me think of taking a shot to a muscle (like the thigh). I don't know that you could ever get a Charlie Horse in the shin.
Re: Re: Post-game analysis: Jamaica - US (R - yes, the score is here already) Nice crack. Jefro Cunny comes on. Beasly got hurt right after. He was hacked and the ref call nothing. He was carried off on a board. Zero production value down there. No replays of the fouls or goals! Andy Williams comes on. BTW Shins get splints. This reminds me of "deez nuts"... What do have when nuts are on the wall?...wallnuts. What do have when nuts are on the chest?...chestnuts. What do have when nuts are on the chin?...you'd have a dick in your mouth!
Bocanegra was great tonight even beyond his offensive production: he seemed to be the rock in the back as well. Cherundolo was seen a lot coming forward, especially early on, but he seemed to give the ball up a LOT in the second half on balls coming out of the back. This might have had something to do with our midfield totally conceding the game to them for much of that half, and both Mathis and Donovan having subpar, invisible performances. Mastroeni was fairly active in disrupting them, I guess, but Convey didn't exactly marshall the troops in the center. I thought Howard looked fantastic, runner up for MOTM. Good move by Bruce in getting Donovan out of there: the Reggae Boyz really went to the cheap shots for the last 25 mintues or so. Tensions ran high, and the Beasly injury was predictable. Convey clearly favored the left side, working with Damarcus, so Klein didn't really get much work, though he tracked back well, I thought and was a nuisance on D. And even though Convey kept pounding the Left, he and Bease accomplished very little.
