I blame Tuchel for this defeat, game was going fine and he decides to go defensive with 20 minutes to go, up by only 1. Stupid!!!

He should absolutely own that one. Argentina are peppering your defensive third so let’s invite more pressure. Idiotic decision.

I think the players shrank with the constant Argentine Pressure ….Kane & Bellingham your two best players Ghosted them 25 minutes …I don’t think the plan was to bunker ..They were just too scared to keep the ball

Touchel totally threw the game with his changes at the second hydration break

The plan was indeed to bunker.
As soon as they scored Tuchel pulled everyone back.
The problem was the defense and midfield both listened to him.
At one point three players pushed up 50 yards and pressed and then Martinez made an easy pass as the defense and midfield wouldn't follow the attackers forward.

So good the first 54 minutes.

They didn’t have an outlet either. They should’ve put Rashford on at 75 mins.

Like he did with Bayern at the Bernabéu, eh? He never changes, does he? He’s rather fond of 5 at the back, is our Thomas, isn’t he?

Credit to Argentina. They stepped it up another gear in the second half and created at least a half dozen good scoring chances..Not all of that was just down to England.

Just can’t do that against a team that knows how to fight and win like Argentina

They barely beat Congo ,Norway was arguably the better Team and the first serious team they face in the tourney they implode and it’s on the Coach ???

If he attacked with 10 mins to go and they concede then again the Coach will be crucified .

Why can’t we accept that this English squad is just above average

Jeez, even my bad prediction juju didn't work for them. Tuchel brought them to this point to his credit, but his underlying tendencies cost them the game in the end.

I think this is true - but because of the coach. Poor overall team selection for the WC with too many water carriers. But that’s me and my dislike for Tuchel.

    But that’s his MO

I don’t fault Bellingham. He was completely knackered.

Trying to understand the rationale that believes taking off midfielders and giving the best footballing brain in the world, maybe ever, more space and time to pick you off 56 ways from here to heaven for 25 minutes, is a good idea.

Doesn’t need to attack - needed an out ball at least.

As annoyed as I am by England losing, I can rest easy knowing that Jordan Pickford is not going to win the World Cup.

Argentina are the most annoying national team in the world.

Once they decided to play Football instead of Pure Shitouse they played England off the pitch. Why TF don't they just stick with playing the damn game?
