ESPN International won the rights to broadcast UEFA matches back in August: http://www.uefa.com/uefa/news/Kind=32768/newsId=95790.html I'm not sure what will be different (if anything) but I'm hopeful for more Man UTd games on TV...
I thought ESPN has always had the right to broadcast CL games? And from past seasons it's clear that Manchester United is never a priority when compared to any Spanish/Italian teams. For Matchday 1 only the Real Madrid game will be shown. I'm guessing they're showing 1 game per matchday. If we're lucky, we might see the game against Rangers but don't expect any more.
last season we had more games on espn than anyother spanish or italian team. dont know about this season.
I wonder if it means ESPN Deportes will get more games? Deportes has always had more games than we get in the States. The article doesn't provide much detail...
There is a thread discussing this announcement in the Business and Media forum: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69337 Don't expect United to be shown on ESPN any time soon as they can make more money selling the rights to Setanta.
