http://10shirt.worldsoccerreader.com/2009/11/possible-united-states-world-cup-jersey-leak/ mods, feel free to move if this should be someplace else
I'd just like to see some consistency from Nike with these designs. I loved how they brought back the 96-97 design with the 2006 World Cup away kits, but then they got rid of those for the current slate/grey/blue aways. Nike has used the sash for a throwback jersey, the DTOM sendoff jersey, and apparently for the 2010 World Cup design, but I'm almost willing to bet that the sash will be gone in the next design. It'd be nice to see some consistency to create more of an identity for the nats, happy to see that a red kit could be in the works though.
looks just a little to much like t&t for me, but it is fricken cool. sash is actually oldskool ala 1950. kinda cool.
I know, I'd just like to see the sash, or the stripes on the current jersey, or the racing stripe or some kind of trademark stick for good so we can get an identity. At least it appears over the past few years that were sticking with the all white home unis, it's a start.
I'm pretty damn sure those are fake. Something someone made in Photoshop as a fantasy kit for Football Manager.
I take that back (unless this video is a pretty elaborate hoax): [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqPYKmbFGws&fmt=18"]YouTube- US Soccer Jersey Video[/ame]
it's never going to happen. nike and the ussf make too much money off not doing that. deal with it, and deal with the shitty kits they design.
Nike and Adidas design hundreds of jerseys for clubs and countries every year, however, they manage to keep an identity for most of those teams. Barcelona's stripes, Celtic's hoops, River Plate's sash, etc. are all thing that define their club's identity. Those teams still manage to sell thousands if not millions of jerseys every time their kits are redesigned. I'd like to see Nike have some consistency with the USMNT jerseys in order to help create an identity for this team. We've had so many different designs, the racing stripe, the current hoops, and now the sash. I don't like these particular designs (I'm sure I'll warm up to them when I see them on the players) but I hope to see Nike continue to use this sash in years to come. The sash has a historical perspective, modeled after the 1950 kits, and would also help the USMNT differentiate themselves from other teams that wear blue and white.
Why is Deuce wearing number 10 in that video? It's also really fishy that the announcer in the video says we beat England in 1954 instead of in 1950.
Well, if we get knocked out of the group phase, we might have a shot at "Miss Congeniality" with those kits.
After looking at the USMNT boards I figured out that the white kit is the exact version of the new home kit, as shown in that youtube video. However, the away and third kit that are posted are merely mockups from a poster on the USMNT boards. However, they are mockups from the poster who presented the home kit, and says that he has inside information from Nike about the away and possible third kit designs. So there's a possibility that the away kit won't use Royal blue and won't look so Evil Knievel-esque. Here's the link: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1234705
The white is not bad, but I really like the red, to bad it;s not already out because that would definitely go on the X-mas list, but what is up with the blue? If it was a Navy blue I can see it working but that color mix is just not doing it for me. The blue is ugly but it still beats Mexico's new home jersey that thing is horrible.
Mexico's jersey sucks. Even worse, it is adidas, so we'll probably see it next season as an MLS template.
