Supposedly Santini is targeting a Dmid, left back, and right midfielder. I think he probably means left midfielder, because those three positions are absolutely requirements for this offseason IMHO. I do think he should also be targeting a second central midfielder and a veteran organizer for central defense as well. There's simply no way that Gardner and King stay healthy for an entire season, and Doc isn't the answer.

I think most of us have been crying for:
    1. Dmid
    2. Left Back
    3. Left Mid
    4. Central Defender
    5. Central Attacking Mid

I would love to have Davids/Van Bommel, Konchesky, and Convey for the first three positions. Perhaps the comment about a right mid is correct, and that Davies will be operating more centrally? What do u think of all this?

I like the whole Konchesky and Convey thing working. I think we desperately need a Center Attacking Mid though.

Trouble with Convey is getting a work permit for him. Didn't we try to buy him last season and the deal came unstuck on the work permit.

At left back I'd like to see Matthew Taylor from Portsmouth. Left Midfield we should have kept Etherington.

The work permit will come through this year, but Convey may not be available when his year comes up.

Nutter has got it right. Before Convey didn't qualify by the caps rule, so he had to go to an appeals hearing, like Tim Howard (who had less caps than Convey at the time he won his appeal). Now Convey will have the necessary caps, so it will never have to go to appeal, it's automatic. But, as 'Nutter said, Convey may not be available.

His stellar showing in the most recent U-20 Youth World Cup convinced enough clubs that there maybe several interested parties. With Pleat out and a new regime in, who knows whether they rate Convey or not? But unless they rate him highly, Spurs will not likely be the highest bidder. Pity really, as I think his game is very well suited for England. He has speed, endurance, great quick passing, ability to beat a man on the dribble (just ask Anthony Gardner, whom he beat about 15 times), and a great left-footed cross. I think Postiga would have shone if he had someone like Convey feeding him a steady supply of quality crosses from the left.
