Official? That looks nothing official if you ask me. I certainly hope it's not, Cancelo, Nuno Assis, Marcos Lopes, Sérgio Oliveira, Bruma? It would be the most awful call up I've ever seen.

Haha I'm guessing Rolando & Costa will be the CB's. I hope Nelo starts up front

Happy to see Nelo starting up top! I figured the CB's would be Rolando & Costa. Happy to see Lopes on the right! Viana is a surprising choice though.

Hugo Viana has been so poor. Lazy, slow, poor in possession..no place on this team.

Nelson Oliveira just missed a sitter on a brilliant pass by Ronaldo, but his goal was fantastic. The way he dropped his shoulder, checked his turn, and then skipped by 2 tackles to hammer it top corner from the top of the box on his left was encouraging..he realized a relative weakness of his*(left foot) and obviously worked on it...its much more powerful and nearer the target then at the euro.

Should be up by 2/3...Canada can take atleast 4 points from this very beatable Panama team.

    Carlos Martins/Veloso on for Viana.

Hugo Almeida might just be the worst striker in the history of the Portuguese National Team...he's been brutal, as always.

Truer words have never been spoken, abysmal...a hattrick of sure goals missed.

Ruben Miceal is just as bad....God.

Almeida, Miceal, Viana...out the door por favor and never come back.

The D didn't have much to do. Coentrao was his usual fantastic self. Miguel Lopes was incredibly impressive, should definitely give JP a tough competition going forward for the RB job.

Viana was horrible, no place on this team indeed. Lazy and slow for sure. He did have one nice through ball but he's a poor man's Moutinho when passing without the work ethic. Moutinho was fantastic as always. Micael is our best reserve CM in my opinion (not counting Veloso who is a starter over Viana).

Nelo was a little too inconsistent but that was a beautiful goal! Hope he keeps it up, he needs to score goals to become our permanent starter because Almeida is just horrible, wow I can't believe he's a STRIKER looking at the chances he missed today; Postiga is better than Almeida.

    Carlos Martins > R. Micael

also from what I have seen so far of Sporting this season, I think Cedric (RB) has a chance of winning a spot on the NT within the next two years, also Adrien has looked pretty impressive at times in pre season, he has work rate and passing ability similar to moutinho.

good to see Nelson Oliveira score

Portugal has 5 games left in 2012

    September 7 & 11
    WC14 Q = Luxembourg Away, Azerbaijan home

    October 12, 16th
    WC 14 Q = Russia Away, N. Ireland Home

    November 14
    Friendly = Gabon Away

Except for Russia away, all these games should be won comfortably. Nelson has a chance to score a couple more goals before 2012 is out and gain confidence.

Would also like to see Ronaldo smash a few more goals in, if he keeps it up he could go into WC 2014 as Portugal's record goal scorer at the age of 29 which would be epic.
