Let's not do for the Kiwis what we've done for Luxemburg, Lichtenstein and Cape Verde. These guys have spirit, fight and nothing to lose.

I'm pretty confident santos won't change the entire starting eleven like Mexico did today, but I'm pretty sure there will be some changes to rest players. Three games in a week is too much after a long season, and to we need to rest if we play a fast paced Chile team.

Sad about Gurriero who is a huge loss considering the drop in quality of his replacement. Thankfully Rafa will play for Porto next season, Coentrao might recover some form, Mario Rui is over his injury, and Ricardo Periera played there in the 2015/2016 season and was good. We will have options going into the World Cup.

Rest Cedric, maybe pepe,William, Adrien, and possibly Ronaldo... thought I doubt he'll pass up the opportunity to score a few goals.

    ....................Patricio......................
    ...........Pepe/Fonte-Alves...............
    Nelson...................................Eliseu
    .............Danilo.......Moutinho.........
    Bernardo Silva........................Gelson
    ..............Andre Silva.....Ronaldo......

These guys aren't a walk in the park. I think we will win 2-0 with some Portugal style panic at the back before Ronaldo saves the day with the 2nd.

New Zealand will give us trouble .
    They remind me of Iceland.

Also they are Mostly angry white men and aren't Minorities we colonized in the past. They will have no complexes
    Against us .m

I agree 2-0 Portugal is the most likely result.

even though this screams 1 or 2-0 (maybe 2-1 after a defensive blunder) I'll go out on a limb and say we will win this 3-0. 1-0 at half from a goal following a set piece, and then 2 more from counters in the second half while the Kiwis press.

Raphael Guerreiro was assessed at hospital, and he did NOT fracture his ankle.

he will already be working on recovery. Perhaps he will be ready in the latter stages.

Take the rest of the summer off Rafa!

Need him next summer. Eliseu is fine for New Zealand and Germany's whatever squad

I approve the idea of resting some players. I personally would rest Ronaldo as he is essential to the success of our team, and beyond that, a win without Ronaldo like what occured in the Euro will do nothing but give those around him confidence that they are capable without their captain.

I like your team. although i must say i think this is what Santos will go with:

    -----------Ronaldo-------Silva
    -Gomes-Adrien-----Danilo--Bernardo
    -Eliseu---Pepe------Fonte-----Semedo

Can't Semedo also play Left Back

As an Açoriano I like having Eliseu and he is more than qualified to play against New Zealand

I say 4-0 against Russia we could of been up 4-0 at the half

    Ronaldo
    Ronaldo
    Quaresma
    Gelson

Great news regarding Raphael Gurreiro, he did have a fracture in one of his toes but that was three months ago. He just has a serious bruise, he could still play in this tournament if he recovers quick enough and we make it to the final

Santos is considering resting Ronaldo for the upcoming match.

I actually agree with this fully, the rest did him well for Madrid this season.. and he will be needed as fresh as possible for either Germany/Chile, both whom are much stronger opponents to New Zealand (with all due respect). Not only this, but even without Cristiano, we have more then enough talent across the field to cope with his loss in this specific match up.

Under the assumption Ronaldo is not in the starting 11:

    --------Nani---Andre Silva
    -Gomes-Danilo-Moutinho-Gelson
    ---Eliseu-Pepe--Fonte-Semedo

I would not be surprised to see Quaresma inserted into the starting 11 as well.

Bernardo will be essential, i think Santos now realizes this and after a long season with Monaco is likely to be rested.

Pepe could use a break or just play 45 minutes.

    i would play

    Quaresma----Andre silva ---Gelson
    Pizzi-----------Danilo------Adrien
    Eliseu------Alves-----fonte---semedo
    -----------------Patricio

I keep Adrien, he is a workhorse and doesn't particularly need the rest as he missed half a season through injury

    In a game
Like this , I expect quaresma and Gelson to do some damage. Andre silva can score here

Throw Bruno Alves in the mix, we may have a rugby match.

Hope not, in Rugby we would lose to the All Blacks, close to 100-0 :D.
That striker lunge in the Mexico game, surprised Herrera did not totally lose his head and he (the Kiwi) got away with it.
