Good mood in the training sessions
    [IMG]
Scolari divided the team into two camps for training.

    Yellow team:
Quim; Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho, Jorge Andrade e Nuno Valente; Costinha, Maniche e Deco; Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo e Pauleta.

    Blue team:
Ricardo; Alex, Tiago Pires, Caneira e André Marques; Fernando Meira, Paulo Renato e João Moutinho; Luís Boa Morte, Simão Sabrosa e Hélder Postiga.

*Tiago Pires, Paulo Renato and André Marques are youth players that were invited to training

Microphones picked up the following conversation

Scolari: Ok, now I will seperate you into two teams! The first team will be composed of all the best players ...and Pauleta of course.

The second team will be composed of the crappy players ...like Simao...who will only see the field if I tell them to clean the litter of it ...so Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, and Andrade don't get their shoes dirty!
Capiche? I will be putting three other crappy players...Andre Marques, Tiago Pires, and Paulo Renato on your team...cause they suck ballz too...but that's ok, they will fit in with you! I want Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco, Maniche, Costinha, and yes, even Pauleta, the Acorian Cyclone, more like the Acorian thundershower, to rape you on the field to gain confidence. Ok?

Simao: But coach, the Champions League title holders Liverpool wanted to pay 18 million euros for me!

Scolari: Yes I know! But I've coached the NT for almost two years now...and the most I would pay for you is 18 euros, biatch.

Rest of team, and even Moutinho laughs at Simao!

Pauleta has gone 4 games with out a goal for the National Team. Looking for # 38 he is 5 goals away from being Portugal"s greatest Goal Scorer

Valente's fitness doesn't impress, and I would not mind having Ferreira left and Miguel right. Ferreira seems pretty comfortable when he is played on that left side.

    ?

    Rephrase that please:
"Why did Ferreira struggle so much in the first 15 minutes against Greece."

Either way, this game is not about Euro 2004; if it was Deco wouldn't be in the team. Same thing with the World Cup and any game we haven't yet played.

Paulo Ferreira is currently at least a lightyear ahead of Miguel.

Right now Ferreira has to be the starter. Miguel is not in shape for such demending and important game.

    Re: Portugal vs Luxembergh Pre-Game[R]

Ferreira's struggles at Euro2004 were just a blip, call it a mental block. I still think Ricardo had enough time to react, and Couto didn't even close it fast enough on the goalscorer.

As for Paulo being a lightyear ahead of Miguel...I wouldnt go that far.
Nuno Valente is a great LB, but i just hope he is in decent condition.

Scolori is a very stubborn man. Why would he go with Ricardo especially vs Luxembergh? I just do not understand.

    Re: Portugal vs Luxembergh Pre-Game[R]

The only way that Scolari will take Ricardo out of the starting 11 is if Ricardo himself tells Scolari he is not in good form. That's not going to happen.

I am starting to sound like Juvy :D

I say as far as i am concerned Ricardo is our keeper.

    Re: Portugal vs Luxembergh Pre-Game[R]

I'm not critizing Scolari. Scolari knows what he is doing, and if he goes with Ricardo then he goes with Ricardo. Although Ricardo is in bad form.
