Line-up just released. I think it's what we all expected.

Austria were dreadful, such a loose fragile defense. no midfield besides Alaba.

Hungary were even worse; slow, clumsy, no midfield, crap players mostly. Yet somehow they cut open Austria on that one play where Austria's defenders were just so stupid.

Dragovic missing vs us..we should be able to smash both these teams but I wont go out and scream that everywhere until I see how we perform today.

Yeah, good idea, lets see how we do first. Things will go well, or horrible.

Vamos!!!!!!!! I'm so upset that I had to work today... Tried to book it off only for it to be denied.
Hopefully, our Portugal team gives us MUCH JOY to celebrate afterwards!!! We can do this!

I like everything about the lineup except the injury to Quaresma. Hope he recovers quickly. Maybe a blessing in disguise - to have him fresh for the knock-off rounds. B/c if Q-tip is a requirement in this group...

I did not know Queresma was injured..... Damn... I was really hoping for him to start with CR at the front. I am loving the line up either way.

I hope Portugal don't F*** this up. They need to start strong and need to win this group easily with the talent they have. As always, watching them play any team has me nervous as you don't know what team will show up...

A bit of a nervous start but now settling in.
Joao Mario looks great - his movement is so great. Moutinho has looked more like himself so far.
Both Gomes and Ronaldo have looked the most nervous so far.
Nani pretty invisible so far. Until he just hits a wide open header from a perfect cross from Ronaldo right at the goalie. Goddamn it Nani - that has to be in the back of the net.

And now Ronaldo misses one (kind of tough but still you got to make contact on that ball!).
Moutinho's deadball deliveries have been awful by the way - straight at the keeper 3 times I think already. We def. miss Quaresma there.

Ronaldo's chance was almost identical to Italy's 1st goal except I think Ronaldo took his eye off the ball at the last second and whiffed it.

Vierinha -> Andre Gomes on the right wing, pass on the ground to Nani. back of the net.
Nothing fancy - just good movement off the ball and simple passes to open players. Soccer 101. Love seeing us playing this kind of team play.
Finally someone else taking dead balls. Same result though.

NANI !!! What a beautiful SIMPLE goal. We needed this one to settle the nerves.
We definitely need a second! It would help...

Funny how having Quaresma about to take his spot in the starting XI, seemed to have boosted his motivation to do well.

    FORçAAAA PORTUGAL!!!

Shaky start but end the half well. Danilo worries me a little in this game, letting the nerves get to him a little. Nani with a nice goal, should of been 2 but he was unlucky. We seem vulnerable at the back anytime a LB or RB pushes up.
