If anybody watches Game of Thrones, this game has some relevance to a character.

The Mountain has a message for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The great thing is that all these games in France will basically be a home game for Portugal.

funny how Santos etc and FPF assume for once in history they are trying to WIN the damn cup

even in 2004 with a great team and at home we didnt say that.

I think this greater psychological self-belief could go a long way for us.

What do you guys make of the rumours that Renato is starting. I have to say I didn't think he was ready to contribute to the team but was happy for him to be in the squad for experience however it seems with a higher standard of player around him he seems to be even better.

I just wonder if Santos takes the gamble

Where did you hear this? I wouldn't mind having Renato Sanches start as he has shown he is a good option for this team. However, I am worried about his inexperience, and because of this I wouldn't have him start, not in the first game anyways. I would bring him on as a sub for the first two games, and if Moutinho is clearly outplayed by Sanches, I would start him vs Hungary.

I think the team has a higher ceiling with Renato in there. Easing him by bringing him off the bench is one way to think about it. But I would probably argue having him start against lower teams (group stage) will prepare him for the bigger teams in the knockout stages.

That said, I still think it should be Danilo-Gomes-Moutinho-João Mario

Two games two wins with a surprising amount of goals, 12 in two games.

If Quaresma is unfit to start I would rather play Rafa than Nani although that is unlikely to be.

    -------------Patricio-------
    Cédric--Carvalho-Pepe-Guerreiro
    ----------Danilo--Moutinho------
    Mário---------------------------Gomes
    ------------Rafa----Ronaldo----------

That was crappy unorganized Portugal, we're better now but so are they. However this should still be a win for us.

Just load up on offense. All these games are killing me of boredom. We have to much talent not to showcase what we have. This group is easily the weakest and we gotta show them who's the boss!

Iceland are a tricky team. They won't open up for us.

It won't be easy, lets look at who Iceland finished (and beat) in qualifying: Netherlands, Turkey, Czech republic

they will be tough, and I can see us doing what we usually do and screw up the first game or take it easy thinking we have it in the bag.

All of our opponents in this group are teams that could give us problems with how they will be parking the bus. I could easily see them pulling off an Albania or a Bulgaria, especially with Quaresma out and if Santos doesn't start the right players.

    Gotta use our talent.
