A shame AZ overturned the 4-2 loss @ Newcastle to win 2-0 and advance.

Benfica is our last hope to get as much points. Hopefully they draw AZ and win both games.

Portugal gets 2 CL automatics for 2007/08: the champion and second place. Third place gets the 3rd round qualifier. Portugal also gets 3 UEFA Cup spots: 4th and 5th place. If, say, Sporting meets either Belenenses or Braga in the final, and either Belenenses or Braga have a 4th or 5th place standing, then the 6th spot in the bwin LIGA gets to go to the UEFA Cup...

WOW so looking at what we do have it will be the same scenario with 6 teams. 7 should our intertoto rep (which could be Leiria who love that competition) win.

Far cry from what I originally thought.

Hopefully Joao Tomas comes back to Braga next year and we get some defenders who actually tackle, and mids that actually can run so that we can go deeper then we did this year.

Let's hope that Boavista makes it to the UEFA Cup so that we can have another team do well in that competition cuz Setubal and Nacional were really bad for us this year.

So, it looks like all our teams are now set.

Porto and Sporting make it to the group stage of the Champions League.

Benfica to the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League.

Braga and Pacos de Ferreira, along with Belenenses (because they'll be either the Cup winner or runner-up), go the first round of the UEFA Cup.

And Uniao de Leiria goes to the 3rd round of the Intertoto Cup.

Good luck to all the teams!
