    GOLO!!

Pepe scores a nice header on his 100th cap.

Nice goal. Pepe can't stop scoring! Pizzi's definitely in-form at the moment.

This isn't a complaint, per se, but I'm pretty sure opponents can just assume Portugal's going to play a corner short.

Portugal called for offside because the one person who thought it was offside has a flag in his hand.

After that last shot of Andre's I just thought, "He sure does that a lot for a guy who we thought was a future star."

He is what he is - a pure in-the-box finisher solely reliant on service from teammates. He'll be at his best once he figures that out.

Decent half. Nice that we are trying a 4-3-3, it helps get our more creative players involved. Bernardo and Cancelo on the right have been combining really well.

Bruma with some interesting moves on the left, but more individualistic.

As for the middle, William has to run more to play this more advanced role, where you have to press the opponent. Croatia hasnt been pressuring much though but in a more competitive match that could be important.

Andre could be important in this 4-3-3 to provide link up play to the wingers and advancing midfielders. Might not get a lot of goals but he could be important there.

I would love to see a midfield of

    ---Neves------------------Sanches
    ----------------William

It is a bulldog midfield, with long range shooting ability, passing ability, technical ability, non-stop running, creativity, youthful... it would be an ideal midfield combination in my mind..

    up top:

    --??----------------Ronaldo---------B.Silva

impressive 1st half for the most part..

still concerned a bit with the small lapses in concentration that appear to lead to dangerous chances for the opponent almost everytime.. with that being said, we have recovered and closed down quickly when those mistakes have occured.

If Sanches can rediscover his form again, that could be a great midfield. I see Neves as more of a pivot.

Also if Gedson Fernandes fulfills his potential as another Renato type player, could have a Neves-Gedson-Renato

Sure, but other than essential, brief hold-up play, I want him to get rid of the ball when outside the box and run at the goal.

Kind of a boring 2nd half, however we look closer to scoring. Croatia hasn't really left their half.

We lost some intelligence with bernardo leaving, hopefully Bruno fernandes can bring some of that creativity back.

    Rony Lopes on for Bruma.

Oh, that was close. Rui overlaps Gelson inside the box, Gelson passes it to him on the way by, he fires a low, hard cross that a Croatian defender gets a foot on and deflects onto the post.

andre silva is garbage. Would have easily won this game with a competent striker. 2 times he had a simply pass which would have put someone through and messed up both

That shouldn't have been a difficult ball for Andre to stay on top of.

Now everyone's getting in on the act.

Finishing with a midfield of Gedson-Renato-Neves. Could be the future midfield for the next decade.

It was refreshing to see this team play without Ronaldo.

Andre Silva is not a lone striker, if he doesn't play with Ronaldo up front to distract defenders he is pretty much useless IMO
