    Hey all,

What is Portugal's Best 11 Lineup of all-time.

    GK : Manuel Bento
DF : Artur Correia, Hilario, Humberto Coelho, Germano
MF : Mario Coluna, Rui Costa, Luis Figo
FW : Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Peyroteo, Eusebio

What would you change from this lineup...who would you add? Found this online...was wondering what everyone thought.

I am too young to really say as I have not seen most of these players play. However I think Ronaldo, Coluna, Figo, Eusebio and Costa would be in most peoples squads.
For example I have heard about Humberto Coelho quite a bit but never seen him play apart from little snippets.

I think the locks are: Coluna, Costa, Figo, Ronaldo, Peyroteo, Hilario, and Eusebio.

Swaps: I think I would swap Manuel Bento for Vitor Baia.

The Defense is up for debate for the exception of Hilario.

What are your thoughts on Paulo Sousa (MF), Ricardo Carvalho and Jorge Costa.

Here is my all-time team....thoughts anyone?

    FWD: Peyroteo & Eusebio

MDF: Ronaldo, Rui Costa, Figo, Mario Coluna

DEF: Hilario, Germano, Humberto Coelho, (Ricardo Carvalho or Joao Pinto???)

Goalie: (Manual Bento or Vitor Baia???)

**Ricardo Carvalho is a CB and Joao Pinto a RB but not sure which I would start....either go with 3 CB or include Joao Pinto as the RB)***

***Goalie Position is also tough choice***

A lot of obvious choices like Eusebio, Ronaldo, Figo, Rui Costa. Hard to select some of the older generations because they barely ever qualified for tournaments.

I would just like to say that Porto's Joao Pinto was an awesome RB. Even Bobby Robson couldn't believe such player existed because of his work ethic. Too bad Portugal was crap during his career and he is a relative unknown outside of Portugal.

I don't get it. We had a good team in those late 80s early 90s it seems. Porto won ECC in 87 and Benfica reached two finals , we also had Paulo Futre.

I think the post Saltillo 86 shenanigans screwed up our NT in those days.

forgot about this guy. Never been a fan of RC, but... the guy can defend and that's all that matters for a defender :)
