Jankauskas (thought he was gone already) F.C.
Well talk about going to the bottom of the barrell... K.C. Which is a good soccer town, but unfortunately plays in a "football" stadium which has a terrible pitch and their attendance has been on the decline...not to mention he won't make any money...he should have stayed in France or Portugal...
it looks like this season are the last in KC, Lamar Hunt got the team up for sale, and the last game at home they only draw 5,000.
It's sad that KC can't get behind their team...they have always been a soccer town... The U.S. Open Cup trophy is named after Lamar Hunt...he has always been a supporter of soccer...
GOOD NEWS. Hope he's more like Moltnar than Fabbro! Yes, team is up for sale. Hope is that it will be bought by local investors. 5,000 is typical for KC Wednesday night games. That's why we'd rather have Saturday games - which draw12-15,000 or more.
Supporter of soccer? O.k. He is first and foremost a businessman, second a die hard american football fan, then soccer fan. After advancing to the finals last year the time was right to put them on the market, because he didn't want to build them a stadium out of his own pocket. Our city had just voted down a tax increase for stadium improvements for the baseball and football teams. He cited that they are a financial drain on his football team? Hell, his take on parking fees for a football game for one year would cover the salary cap for the wizards for ten. The proposed sale has killed ticket season ticket sales.
