John Cunningham president of PGE Park, Portland Timbers, & the Portland Beavers has left the team to take a position w/ Qwest Arena in Idaho... http://www.idahosteelheads.com/news/article.aspx?articleid=195
I Thank the good lord above that John "I'm pants and have no clue" Cunningham is gone. He was crap...he hired a crap coach...and he viewed the Timbers Army as an "enemy of the park". Need I say more?

I think Bags will become a fan favorite up there. He certainly was here in Charleston and the same up in Wilmington. Very easy going guy and if he wasn't playing I could see him hanging in the Timbers Army. He hung out with us in E10 down here in Charleston while he was in town for a couple matches. good guy and wish we could have got him back here in Chucktown mikey
offseason tribute video; to the best damn supporters ever... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuJDHP5dpYo
shall be an interesting year. I am great that Tommy and Lee are signed on for this season. May not be the best players on the pitch, but they are such hardworkers, and are very inspiring individuals. I think Scot will stay in the U.S., so we will also get him for this year. News is Hugo is gone, and not sure about Byron. But I am so glad AgneLLLLLLLLLLo is gone, and Gavin is running the show.
Byron, Yuri Morales, Jacobi Goodfellow are all believed to have signed with the Puerto Rico Islanders... before the USL website received a makeover their roster looked like this: Byron Alvarez, Gustavo Avila, Terence Boss, Noah Delgado, Leslie “Tiger” Fitzpatrick, Alejandro Gonzalez, Jacobi Goodfellow, Victor M. Herrera, David Johnson, Edward Limage, Edwin Miranda, Yuri Morales, Issac Nieves, Raphel Ortiz, Thomas John Queeley, Mauricio Segovia, Carlos Torres, Marco Vélez, Petter Villegas, Corey Woolfolk, Alberto Zapata ( for some CFU competion they had http://www.newsday.co.tt/sport/0,49281.html )
someone who had spoken with Byron last month told me the rumor was he hadn't signed with Puerto Rico, but was shopping himself around and was going to hold out as long as possible for the best deal, preferably a look from an MLS team. He didn't think Byron would be coming back to Portland regardless, though. Looks to be a journeyman, blue collar year for the timbers, though. does anyone know anything about Mamba and Luke's situation? i would really like to see both of them back this year, especially if Hugo and Byron are gone. I imagine Luke, having come to the Timbers from FSL, wants to get back in MLS ASAP, though.
i didn't quite understand it either, to tell the truth. perhaps he signed a contract to cover the tournament only? just passing on what i've heard.
Wouldn't be the first time teams have had "guest players" for certain competitions. Mamba Chisoni signed a two-year deal, or so said the original announcement... but we haven't heard from him lately. Who knows?

How many players attended the January 20th and 21st workout? I was interested to find out how Lawrence Olum performed during that time. Lawrence played for the St Louis Lions (PDL) last year and did rather well for us.
just under 80 guys were invited... Lawrence Olum was quite impressive... he can play at this level that is for sure... when he was on the field he impacted it... he is VERY vocal... he was even telling some of the veterans where to position themselves... he also, if i remember correctly, had a great header for a goal off a corner kick... he got up about an extra foot above the keeper... gavin the coach i think will take an extra look at him...
Thanks for the update ohhh_yeah. Lawrence is strong in the air but his best quality is that he is very vocal and can organize the guys around him. He is very sneaky smart. He scored some key goals for us. Lawrence "The Cat" Olum is also a fun guy to be around. He is great to have in the clubhouse and his fun infects the entire team. He knows how to keep the guys loose.
