Re: Mt. St. Helens: Due to weather, it looks like going to the Visitors Center in Castle Rock and then taking the Spirit Lake Hwy up to the Johnston Ridge Observatory is the only option at this time. There's like a $10 charge for a day pass. So it might just turn into a drive up, picnic lunch, take a few photos and come back. Say 10am-3pm trip. Thx, Jay! Another update: found posted driving times on the website. Portland to the visitors center 1:15. And it's another 1:15 to the Johnston Ridge area. So that's 5 hrs right there. My wife is getting less and less enthused about it, and if the weather is crap it may be a pointless exercise. McMinville is only 45 minutes to the south, so guzzling some Willamette Valley Pinot Noir may be on the cards instead. I'll know more tomorrow night.
Welcome to PDX! On our www.TimbersArmy.org site we have a whole section devoted to away supporters visiting our fair city. Feel free to take a look for discounts and ideas. All GA in our stadium is TA branded ticket. While we are more than happy to buy you a pint at the Bitter End before and after the match we ask that folks supporting the other side not stand in our section during the match. Even if you are with a Timbers Army member. We have 3600 folks in our TA section and you never know what random drunken fool might do so we try to err on the side of caution. And regardless of what that Crew supporter said we here in Portland have enormous respect for United supporters and the role they have played building Supporters culture in the United States. Should be a fun weekend!
Finn we've traveled once or twice before (I know this is due to Columbus guys getting lost on your side). See you tomorrow if you're goin drinkin with us.
Yeah, know it aint your first rodeo just saw the guy with GA tickets above so thought I would say something. See ya tomorrow.
