    In Spanish, to guess right the prediction of the result is called "PORRA".

    Let us make the PORRA of the party.

    I think: GALAXY 1 MADRID 2.

    And You?

    This it is the first party of the preseason for Real Madrid. That is to say, for a month the players have not been playing... return from vacations, so they are of low form. All go, logically, because at the end of August they begin Liga, and now begin the preseason: Bechkam, Squares, Raul, Figo, Ronaldo, Diogo and Pablo Garcia (Osasuna), new draftees. Real Madrid will change the eleven in the rest and will remove to other 11, surely. Together ones will not play all, possibly, but it can that if. Possible alignment: Squares Salgado Samuel Helguera Robert Carlos Zidane Bechkam Pablo Garcia Figo Raul Ronaldo (Within two weeks, Robinho) To this Real Madrid him lack to return much to have sufficient level like gaining the Glass of Europe. It has the best ones, but for 2 years it has not been the best equipment. Like equipment, it does not have anything. To see as east year works. At the moment, the last year made a thing clear: Real Madrid will have to qeuhacer the things to arrive very well at the level from Barcelona, Milan, Chelsea, Bayer...

    So hard to predict one of these types of matches.. LA will be missing it's best offensive player and it's best defensive player (maybe won't play) due to the Gold Cup.
    2-2 is my wild, and hopeful guess... ;)

    What do you think would have been the score if we went to Madrid to play the world club championship? (We would have been in the same group, which is why all the talk of Galaxy vs. Real has been going on since then)

    Yeah becks watch out. like the immortal hulk hogan said " whatcha gonna do.. when Naldo, YES NALDO runs wild on YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

    No, instead lets be REALLLY depressed like tequila, realize that MLS only pays like $1.3 million for a whole team, realize that mexico is better, realize that Beckham just might make more money then our entire league, and give up hope, surrendering to a life of drinking tequila and wondering why we weren't lucky enough to live in a country with a billion dollar league.

    Or, we can hope for an upset in this firendly and support our crappy team.

    Im with option 2.

    3 - 1 to the GALAXY

    Passback Pete is channelling Ronaldihno and hits for a first half hat-trick

    Real pulls one back in the 67th when Gato shanks a back pass from Ugo into his own net.

    :confused:

    i guess i'm gonna have to be the realistic one here...
    8-7 Galaxy

    Michael Owen, pissed that Real isn't interested in keeping him around decides to turn on real madrid after putting real up 7-0 by halftime. Real decides to take him off after the 3rd own goal and he heads off the field. Unbeknownst to all, he heads to the galaxy locker room, puts on a disguise and a galaxy kit and heads back on the field in place of naldo to put 5 more past the hapless madrid defense.

    BOOYAH!

    1st half owen 3, 5, 15, 26, 35, 36, 45
    2nd half owen 47(og), 48(og), 50(og), 68, 79, 81, 88, 90(+1)
    owen 15 - RM 0.. - Galaxy 0

    OK the starting lineup will probably look like this (assuming we have our Gold Cup players back, except of course LD, and assuming Albright, Vagenas, Marshall are available )

    ~~~~~~~~~~~Hartman~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ~~Albright~~Marshall~~~Ihemelu~~~Dunivant
    ~~~~~~~~Vagenas~~Nagamura~~~~~~~~~
    ~~Jones~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Pando~~~
    ~~~~~~Kirovski~~~~~~Naldo~~~~~~~~~~
    Key subs:
    3 Umana
    11 Grabavoy
    16 Herculez
    18 Ngwenya (if he's not injured)
    19 Enfield
    21 Gordon
    27 Chinchilla
    If Vagenas is out (hopefully not) then Grabs or Herc will fill in
    If Marshall is (hopefully not) then Chinchilla will go in
    If Albright can't play either Umana or Chinchilla will go in
    Prediction: 2-1 Real Madrid, unfortunately
    3-1 Real. Though I am hoping for a tie. A win would just be unrealistic.
    Off topic but I wonder if this match will get more requests for press credentials than MLS Cup at HDC did last year?
    Would be interesting to know for comparison..
    Not trolling just interested:
    1.) Do you think it is possible Landon would be let go for a one off match like this. I am now positive of the Gold Cup schedule at the moment. I know FSC is promoting it as a Donovan vs. Beckham thing (at least the commercial this morning mentioned it)
    2.) Has anyone seen a line up for Madrid?
    3.) As much as it hurts me to say this, I hope your team beats the crap out of them.
    Have a good weekend.
    Yeah, you missed it last week - 7-11 had free Slurpees all day to celebrate the 40th aniversary of the Slurpee. Good stuff.
    I'm thinking that the Real Madrid players - expecting a dinky little stadium in the backwaters of provincial soccer country USA - will be so amazed and awed by the granduer that is the HDC that they will stumble before its glory and Cobi will speed past them for a goal. Then Beckham will retaliate by lightly slapping Cobi, and the Argeninte ref will toss Goldieballs out of the game, and all the press corps will rush to the tunnel for extended interviews and the fans can enjoy the rest of the game.
    Good times.
    My prediction:
    I might TIVo the game and watch it when I get a chance...
    Beckham shmeckham
    I'll only be upset with this game if any of the players actually go 100% and risk injury...
    1. It's very very unlikely Landon will be there unless the USA loses on Sunday and even then he will be very tired. FSC is using his name because they can and should know better.
    2. No starting line-ups have been published and likely won't be but RM said they will play their stars.. I would imagine all or close to all of their names will play at some point if they don't start.
    3. A win or draw would suffice.. Don't want to embarress RM too much.. ;)
    I will put a positive spin on the missing players deal that I am not sure if anybody has considered yet with all the talk of both Landon and Marshall being out with their respective national teams.
    Saturday's quarterfinal pits the United States against Jamaica. One team has to lose meaning that we will either have Landon or Marshall available for Monday. Marshall does however have a nagging injury, so were he to become available following the game, whether or not he plays monday will be up in the air.
    My prediction for the result: Real Madrid 3 Los Angeles Galaxy 1
