I am praying for it to be so....Heck, i am a Metro fan and would not mind not seeing Pope play for us until the Gold Cup is over, as long as he is healthy and playing as well for the Nats and club as he was pre injury
Let's not rush Pope back from his knee injury for the Gold Cup. It's really not that important. Do we really need to beat up on teams like El Salvador and Mexico again? Let him slowly work his way back into club ball. The C.C. proved our depth in central defense is weak so all the more reason to let Pope skip the Gold Cup and not risk further injury by coming back too soon.
It's no rush If i'm not mistaken, he was supposed to be out from 6-8 weeks so if the doctors feel he is fully recovered by the time the Gold Cup comes there is no reason why he should not play, especially when it appears our defenders have struggled w/o his presence.
