Because last time I checked Poch got destroyed by Belgium (multiple times), beat by Turkey (multiple times), and in fact could only beat shitty ass Bosnia. Did I miss some huge CONCACAF wins somewhere in there by Poch? People can shit on GGG all they want. I don't love the guy, but I don't hate him either. There is no debating his record vs Poch's as US manager though. None. There isn't a single thing Poch did better than GGG. Also, asking Adams to run a midfield by himself v Belgium... not Poch's best idea, talk about ego.
What are you talking about? The vast majority of the squad was born and raised here in the US, and came up through American academies before going to Europe. Knowing the ecosystem means understanding the American player, not the German players that were born and raised there and came up through German academies, or English players born and raised there and brought up in English academies. I'm pro-dual nats, but there is a clear difference in how foreign born Americans were raised and trained in comparison to domestic born Americans. Simple fact, our system really sucks and it's hard to understand how much it sucks until you've spent a long time here, as Poch said himself recently. That's understanding the ecosystem, not just looking at where dudes play now.
Dolo and Matarazzo are both serious answers, though the latter has no interest in the job right now. Domestic born and raised guys that spent the vast majority of their lives living in Europe. Dudes that are smart, willing to work their way up the ladder from the bottom, and have some form of success already as a coach.

Yawn. How is that different than Brasil, or Croatia, or pretty much most nations, apart from Spain or England? Having a national team where the majority of players play abroad is commonplace. Argentina have a majority playing overseas, they don't worry about their "ecosystem." And we can mention chapter and verse of national sides, both great and ordinary where their "ecosystem" simply does not matter. Archer had it right: "Knowing the ecosystem" simply does not matter anymore. Either a coach can select a roster and set tactics and communicate properly, or he can't. This isn't a "uniquely American" problem.

Meh, the US would first have to assemble a group of players good enough to compete for a WC before worrying about winning one. They didn't shoot themselves in the foot. Their biggest goal was to make as much as possible with ticket sales, so they accomplished their goal with this. Results were secondary.
