    He He...when he's not injured.
Still, he's been the best left sided player England has had in the better part of the past decade.
    Check around.

yeah thats right he got hurt early against blackburn - he is very good and youre right about the 3 lions' left side, but hes not better than anyone on this list IMO - i promise i am not unfamiliar with le saux

Pires and Figo. It feels strange not to pick Giggs but Pires has been incredible in the last 2 years.

yeah pires seems to get better every year of his career - back before WC98, i usually considered him to be miserable, but look at him now - hes incredible (& desevedly the reigning EPL POY)

I picked Joaquin, who's better than Figo and Beckham right now, and GIggs, a player I've always liked a lot for left winger.

I picked Pires, because he has been awesome this year and the past few years. He is probably the best goal scoring winger in the world, and I love his fast paced game. He is my choice to play on the left, barely edging out Giggs.

My other pick was David Beckham, mostly for his impeccable crossing ability. He is also a player that always works hard and has great leadership. I also took into account his free kicks. I want him as my right winger.

Figo has scored a lot of goals this year, but he hasn't been as good all around. He has been good, but has been better in past seasons.

I am disappointed that Clarence Seedorf's AC Milan teammate, Rui Costa, was left off the poll. He has been incredible this year. Pippo Inzaghi owes much of his spectacular season to Rui Costa's vision and great crosses. He doesn't score many goals but I thought Rui deserved honorable mention.

everything you say here is very reasonable EXCEPT i felt the admittedly outstanding play by rui costa is getting somewhat overshadowed by seedorf, who is enjoying the form of his life over the past season-and-a-half - this poll could have realistically had double the nominees - IMO this is the deepest position worldwide - there are so many quality winger types who didnt even make the final 15 when i was puttin this up (van der meyde, kewell, LD, morales, bowyer, pirlo, zanetti, gomez, salihamidzic, basturk, camoranesi, zenden, solari, goor, solano, robert, etc.)

I thought that Rui Costa was a central player?

Pires is also right footed isn't he? He floats all over the pitch though.....I picked him and Joaquin.

    Someone start a central/attacking mid thread. :)

I haven't seen any serie a this season because of the problem with the the UK rights, but in the past Rui Costa has always been a central player. The depth in this category is pretty good although I would think that sthe strikers would push it.
