"Mustafa Sabri, spokesman for the Qalqiliya municipality, said the ban was democratic because it reflected the wish of the majority."

    -------------------------------------

I don't believe it is the 'wish of the majority' but even if it's true--that's not democracy.

This article reminds us that there is a cultural civil war going on in the Muslim world. I suspect that there ARE many others who feel the same way this guy does, but live-and-let-live moderates tend not to form armed militias.

    This report is just amazing.

People actually pay attention to poets?

    Poets by nature are anti-warists.

Homer is more of a historian than a poet. So let's leave him out.

I wasn't the only one who saw this and thought verybdog said "anti-warts," right?

dog, I think the word you're looking for is "pacifist."

Thanks for the suggestion. It's anti-war-ists. The word 'Pacifists' sounds wimpy.
