While it could be argued that this signing deserves its own thread, we usually keep signings/transfer discussions in the transfer thread.

I'm thinking Arsene will play a 4-4-2 now?

And the press are saying an "undisclosed fee". If the true fee is above £20m, or even approaching £30m, the board has balls. ;)

Yeah, def not 20-30, but I hear more than 11. Either way, if reports are close, it is great value!

A 4-4-2 would be interesting for sure, then they could play Podolski with RvP and rotate in Theo as needed.

The fee is 11m pounds (~13.5m Euros) from what I hear.

Signings get their own thread.... We use the transfer thread to bitch and moan about all the signings we usually don't make.

some time, yes, oh yes! but actually, I think it's go a nice, fresh look. I like what Val1 had to say... my sentiments exactly! Our biggest signing since, well, umm, anyway, deserves not to be lost in a thread a mile long! :)

We certainly did get a lot deeper, given that we really only have one striker at present. As he can play on the wing as well as up front, he's going to get games, so I'd like to see another striker signed too. The footballing gods may have looked down on RvPs ankles and knees with kindness this season, but after the number of games he's played and what will probably be a busy EURO2012, I'm not going to bet that he'll do the same next season

All joking aside, I hear he's a pretty good defender...not that I actually watch him much

The Koln fans were not happy today. Not happy at all.

Podolski ended the Bundesliga season today in the top 5 in scoring. He is tied for 4th place on the goal list with Claudio Pizarro. Both players finish with 18 goals in 29 League matches for the 2011-12 season.

the own goal was laughable, and nothing could be done with the excellent robben goal.

Actually, I also liked the look of Milivoje Novakovic, the number 11 for Koln...

While he had a lot of highlights on that video, the beginning was a bunch of heavy, sloppy touches. It was like an Arshavin highlight/lowlight reel.
