Third signing Ryan Edwards from Morecombe, this maybe a very good signing 23 years old, has played 127 games for them and was this past season voted player of the year by the fans and also the players player of the year.

interesting to see how they are gearing up for next season... but are they signing players away ffrom other D2 teams, or are they getting players interested in signing with us from D1 or players cut loose from the championship?

on another note, what about finishing for the stands, or the remodel whatever they are going to do? are they going to spend some money and get the rest of the stadium enclosed?

    Another maybe subtle tweet

Tomorrow, it's #KitNews Day Three, when we may get carried away... #pafc"

Has been interpreted to say Tomorrow, it's #KitNews Day Three, when Carey might be wearing the away kit.

Well it was a busy day today at Home Park, but not as busy as the fans wanted it to be, and most fans are not happy, first the good news

    1. One of last years squad has resigned Gary Sawyer https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2017/june/sawyer-signs-on/

    2. The away kit was introduced and looks neat https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2017/june/sawyer-signs-on/

Then the news that the fans are not to happy with 2 signings and the home kit

1 The home kit it's not bad it's just the big red sponsor blog on the front fans dont like https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2017/june/home-kit-revealed/

    2. New signing Greg Wylde who is actually a old signing https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2017/june/wylde-at-heart/

    3. New signing Aaron Taylor-Sinclair https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2017/june/aaron-added/
he comes from Doncaster who came up with Argyle from Div 2, he missed nearly all of last season and was voted by the fans as the worst player on Doncaster the season before.

Still no news about Carey and no sighting of manager Derek Adams.

Well we are off and running, first of the pre-season games in fact there were 2 pre-season games, both against teams from the SWPL (South West Paninsular League) first was Plymouth Parkway and second against Saltash, the SWPL league is about 9 leagues below Argyle and the players are semi-pro.
Also Argyle have a team in this league last year it was considered to be Argyle's reserve team, but it was mostly their U18 team playing with a few of the 1st team playing when coming back from injury, it is rumoured that Argyle will also play in the Central Reserve League this consists of about 9 teams, so will be a bit of a step up from the SWPL.

    #1 Plymouth Parkway
    Argyle's lineup
    [IMG]

5 newcomers in this lineup # 1, 5, 8, 17 and 21. # 3 and all the subs are apprentices or 1st year pros. Final score was Argyle 3 Parkway 1 Carey scored 2 and Wylde the other.

    2. Saltash

    Argyle's lineup
    [IMG]

2 newcomers in this lineup #11 and 16. #26 and 28 and the subs are all apprentices or 1st year pros.
Final score Argyle 2 Saltash 0 with the 2 newcomers scoring.

The 2 teams are approx 25 mins apart so as soon as the Parkway game finished alot of the spectators jumped in their cars to go over to Saltash to watch the 2nd game including a number of the Argyle players from the 1st game.

These 2 games are just a good way of warming up and getting the players back into game mode, Argyle have 4 pre-season games next week.

2 more pre-season games, yesrterday's game was a U-18 team against Barnstaple, U18 team lost 3-2, todays game was against Tiverton who play in the Southern League Premier Division they would be 7 divisions below Argyle. Argyle won 2-1 with goals from Sarcevic and Blissett, tomorrow they play Buckland Athletic who play in the Western League which is 9 divisions below Argyle.
After that they play Weston Super Mare National League South, the sixth tier of English football on saturday.

so 2 more pre-season games come and gone,

    Wednesday 12th July: Buckland Athletic 1 - 5 Argyle (Blissett 2, Lameiras 2, Grant).

Saturday 15th July : Weston Super Mare 0 - 4 Argyle (Jervis 2, Lameiras, Miller).

So the first team has played 5 won 5 scored 16 conceded 3

    scorers
    Carey 2, Wylde 1, Lameiras 4, Grant 2, Sarcevic 1, Blissett 3, Jervis 2, Miller 1.
From what people say Lameiras seems to be the star of pre-season so far, they say he is very much like Carey but has a bit more speed.

Injuries are starting to catch up, Sokolic and Ness have yet to play a pre-season game, Bradley has missed the last 3 games and Ryan Taylor, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, Callum Rose, missed todays game and Fox went off today with a nasty looking groin injury.

Next game is on tuesday against Torquay who are in the National league 2 divisions below Argyle, games will get tougher from now on, There are 2 other pre-season games next week but they will be U18 teams and players from 1st and reserve who have`nt had much playing time, then next friday against Cardiff City a Championship team and then off to Holland, unfortunately one of the exhibition games has been cancelled, Argyle trying to find another team to play.

6 games 6 wins, a compact 2-0 win with goals from Carey and Grant.

    https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2017/july/torquay-united-v-argyle/

Argyle (4-2-3-1): 23 Luke McCormick; 2 Gary Miller, 5 Ryan Edwards, 4 Yann Songo’o, 3 Gary Sawyer; 7 Antoni Sarcevic, 24 David Fox; 21 Gregg Wylde (16 Joel Grant 74), 11 Ruben Lameiras, 10 Graham Carey; 14 Jake Jervis (8 Lionel Ainsworth 74). Substitutes (not used): 1 Robbert Te Loeke, 15 Sonny Bradley, 17 Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, 19 Ryan Taylor, 20 Jakub Sokolik, 26 Jordan Bentley, 27 Alex Fletcher, 28 Cameron Sangster.

The 8 subs unused and the 2 who did play will be the basis for tomorrow's game against a Devon rep team and then friday night will probably see what is closest to Argyle's starting lineup for the season in the game against Cardiff.

    7 games, 7 wins.
This was a bit of a stroll in the park
Argyle win 7-0 against a Devon FA XI with two goals each for Alex Fletcher, Lionel Ainsworth and Sam Ryan and one goal from Alex Battle. Sonny Bradley, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Jakub Sokolik all returned from injury and played 71 minutes.
Ainsworth and Fletcher scored in 1st half, and then in the 2nd half most of the first team playing were replaced by players from the U18 and academy team and they scored 5 goals.
    Next game friday against Cardiff

Argyle 0 Cardiff 1 crowd of 5021 saw Argyle lose their final pre-season game..
Whats that you say final game but they are playing 2 games in Holland next week. Yes Argyle leave tomorrow (sunday) for a weeks training in Holland and they were scheduled to play 2 games against Dutch teams, unfortunately both games have been cancelled as the mayor of each city denied the teams a permit as he was worried about rowdy British football fans.
So Argyle will just go there and train and bond with each other.

2 weeks until the season starts.

Argyle are now in Holland and surprise surprise they were able to get a exhibition game, and instead of the 2 teams they were suppose to play, who play in the equivalent of Div 1 and 2 .
They today played a exhibition game against the #1 team in Holland Feyenoord it may not have been their full first team but it did include some of their best players including the leading goalscorer in the top league and some International players
Here is the match report https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2017/july/friendly-result-feyenoord-0-argyle-0/
