Yeah, that is the tough part. Chelsea bought him for 30 million pounds last summer. I think the only team that can afford him would be AC Milan if they want to work with him.
But maybe he'll take a paycut to live in his wife's old town and raise his kids in America.

Milan wanted to buy him last summer but Chelsea's asking price was too high. I think we'll have to wait till his contract is up in 2.5 years before he comes here. Unless you have an extra $60+ million you can give to your favorite mls team to cover the transfer fee.

chelsea will not get $60 million in a transfer of Sheva. They won't even get $20 million now. I'd venture to guess he would get sold for about 4-6 million pounds at most. Is that still too high for MLS? Who knows. I'm not even going to get into that debate.

    he's 31 now so that makes 33-34.

    that's more like realistic scenario.

So we're talking about $10 million. Who pays the transfer fees, MLS or owners?

Doesn't he qualify to buy out his own contract? I thought there was some FIFA rule if you are over 28 you can do that.

Is $300,000 a good enough offer?

Good Lord, I hope so. There's no way Sheva is worth that to MLS. It's off by probably a factor of 10. Seriously.

I think you'll see him with RBNY, but not until 2010.

    Okay, let me rephrase that:

Who pays for the transfer fee? MLS as a whole, or only the owners of the team that would be looking to acquire him?

    Is that better?
