I am so sorry, Goodsie. What a nightmare this year has been for you. Fellow fans -- if you can help him out, the link from this month still works https://gf.me/u/yhb67i Thanks everyone.
I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom so soon after your Father. Find great comfort in the fact that you were a devoted son and able to spend so much time with them through the later years of their lives. That's rare and they were truly fortunate. It's sad, yet beautiful, when life long couples pass so closely.
Hi Goodsport, I’m sorry for the death of your mom so soon after your father. Please take good care of yourself in this dark time. -mj lee
Thank you MJ! I'll try my best. As for an update on my mom: she was finally laid to rest next to my father at the cemetary on Wednesday. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I am so sorry, Victor. There's a traditional Jewish saying: "may their memory be a blessing." As wrenching as it is to lose a parent, the bond you had remains with you. No son could have done more for his parents, and I hope that will help comfort you during the challenging months to come.
God bless you, TyffaneeSue! Thank you. On another note: As I was passing the clams and oysters while grocery shopping earlier today, I was for some reason reminded of how I celebrated New Year's Eve/Day with my parents for the past many years: Costco rotisserie chicken and Will's potato salad (also from Costco) for lunch and/or dinner on New Year's Eve, followed by a spread of clams, oysters and lots of various other hors d’oeuvres spread out across the table near midnight, along with the annual glass of Ballatore champagne for me and Martinelli's sparkling cider for my parents (they couldn't have champagne because of all the medications they took), watching the ball drop on TV and all that. Now there are no more parents for me greet the New Year with, nor even a place for me to greet it with even if alone... GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
While my parents' passing this year has since allowed me once again the time to work as many assignments as have been available, the strain from my mother's funeral (and my father’s before that) has proven to be tougher to recover from than originally thought. If I could please ask for at least a bit more help, that would be greatly appreciated. https://gf.me/u/yhb67i (same link as previously) Thank you all again, everyone. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I'll donate tommorrow a little that I can. I'm struggling-ish too but let me reach out to some people on twitter I know who are big social media influencers and see what we can get done. I'll wake up around 11 and then get your link and story out there.
I am so sorry, Goodsport. You deserve a better birthday this year. Other than donations, is there other help people could provide? Job leads, housing, etc?
Though my birthday is next Monday , thank you very much for the well wishes and the help. All that help would definitely be welcome. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Happy birthday to Goodsport, a star among stars. Stickying this thread for day in case someone wants to help out.
Update: after a trying two years (much of which has been documented here), things have finally started looking up for the most part. But if I could please ask... https://www.gofundme.com/f/22vpvyemao Thank you again for your patience and understanding. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
