Thank you, TyffaneeSue. I apologize for asking this after how generous and helpful everyone here has already been, but there is indeed yet another need for help, one that we'd been hoping to have been able to take care of by now but have been unable to due to the financial/job situation : https://www.gofundme.com/repair-for-backyard-fence Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all again. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Perhaps not so easily, but in any case, it appears that the fence repair will simply have to wait a bit longer until the financial situation improves. Unfortunately, there's recently been a more urgent need considering the approaching summer : https://www.gofundme.com/need-air-conditioner-repair As before, any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all once again. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I apologize for reviving this thread again after such a long time. If I fully had my way, I'd hope to never had needed to again. While the fence can still wait a bit longer and the air conditioner was eventually fixed after a while (albeit by sacrificing some other bills at the time), there's now perhaps among the most urgent of matters - in retrospect, I probably should've posted this somewhat earlier, but we've been so busy (and continue to be) trying various methods of resolving this. https://www.gofundme.com/please-help-my-parents-keep-their-home We even were only recently informed about out how we can avoid this again going forward (assuming this can resolved in time, of course)... I wish I'd known about it earlier. As always, any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all again. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Thank you for the bumps, Don and Mark! There's just been a situation update posted there, including an explanation for the now drastically lowered target price. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
The amount Goodsie is seeking is relatively modest -- if everyone helps out a little, we'll get there.
Thank you so far, everyone! Read the line at the very top of that page. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Thank you, tectonicnight. The short answer is by no later than Wednesday, February 27th. The more involved answer is by sometime during the previous week. Of the entire packet that we need to fill out, collect documents for and turn in, only a few sections of it needed to be filled out and filed with the court immediately back in the last week of January to initiate an "automatic stay" to prevent having lost the home on Feb. 1st. We were then given 14 days to complete the rest of the packet and turn it in, something that's usually expected to be done with an attorney; doing it without an attorney is possible but is a lot tougher and more time-consuming (something that's even pointed out in the introductory paperwork ), not to mention later having to face the creditors without one. Fortunately, a recently requested extension of an additional 14 days was granted, so now we have until the 27th to turn the packet in. So the sooner we reach the goal (especially considering how long GoFundMe finally gets the money to its recipients), the sooner we can finally hire an attorney to help complete the entire packet and to help prepare to face the creditors later on. Thanks again. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I really wish that I didn’t have to revive this thread again. Unfortunately, things didn’t quite work out as hoped since the last time it was posted in. I particularly couldn't imagine then how much things would change with my parents, our home and the world in general. https://gf.me/u/yhb67i As always, any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all again. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Goodsie, I am so sorry to hear about your predicament, and your father's death. I cannot even imagine having to deal with all that in the midst of a pandemic. Thanks for reaching out to your Quakes family and please keep us posted. Someone may also be able to help you find employment when you get to that point.
Thank you, TyffaneeSue. The last several months = When it rains, it certainly pours. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
And the hits just keep on coming... After a brief stay at a long-term care facility while I was trying to finalize her Medi-Cal application, my mother was suddenly rushed to the local ER yesterday (though not due to coronavirus, for which she thankfully tested negative for at the ER), after which she passed away early this morning.
