For someone as supposedly as smart as you, you would realize that no matter if the Landon threads were seperate or piled together, they would still take up the same amount of server space.
Wow, I need to catch up on the board. If this "drama" is even close to the "KC Cheats" stuff I will be extatic. But RB is right in that this board has gone way down hill.

Man, I'm glad I'm an old lady...I learned to think about things a little bit more deeply than just "oh, they're all fans now, I don't like him anymore." If that were true, I would have thrown out all of my U2 stuff by now. Wow...gee...other than the fact that I don't have any real working knowledge of how message boards work, which is why I am majoring in history and not computer science, and the fact that my question was a serious one...I take that as an insult, and I am offended.

I agree. This forum has indeed gone down hill--so much so that I'm actually surprised to see a real Quakes discussion! An intelligent discussion with real meat is almost unthinkable. Yes, some of it is attributable to the fact that we're in an MLS break right now and there's not much new with the Quakes. However, let's not resort to filling the void with threads on streaking, random gibberish, who has the best abzzz, and yes, even Yves. The noise-to-signal ratio has gotten way too high around here...
I guess I should thank all of those (Lab Mouse, Ahn) who have proven my original point that I stated. I have no problem with SJQF, by the way. I do not even know what the hell any of you are talking in regards to all the drama. I do exercise my right not to read all the bull-crap many of you waste your time talking about. On the bright side, I may not get completely flamed now, due to it being past the bed-time of many Quakes fans errrrrrrr posters.
I just want to say that as much as I love the Quakes, this forum is hugely disappointing. I have yet to read a new thread, as compelling as it may be titled or start out, that doesn't eventually end up as insignificant, back and forth patter that bears zero resemblance to the original topic. If you don't agree or believe me then click on any thread in this forum - ANY thread at all - and follow it for more than a page or so. Better yet, don't read the title of the thread and then click on the 2nd or 3rd page first. Then, try to guess what the subject of the thread is. This isn't a holier than though, elitist attitude just the plain truth. I love you guys as fellow fans but just once I'd like to see a relevant, provocative discussion that stays that way. This also isn't a knock against fun and humor, just irrelevance.
I have noticed across the boards that posters who regularly used to post on this board no longer do, although they may post on other boards. To be completely honest, the static on this board makes it difficult to find threads that contain real discussion - you know what I mean, and I don't want to debate the semantics of what 'real' and 'discussion' mean. I've only seen a handful of games this year, and this board used to be the best place to find news. However, I go to CyberSoccerNews, and I can find news there. I come here, and many of the posters that one could rely on to post insightful observation are gone. There really should be some place else for non-relevant discussion to go. Landon is fab, but the Quakes fans were here first. So there's my $.02.
Then you'd be wrong, too, Albany. I actually had more respect for you than that. Never put words in my mouth, please. Besides, it's a moot point. Thread's still there. If we closed/moved/merged every thread that every person requested, or got everyone carded that everyone complained about, or ran off every troll/newbie that all the esteemed "regulars" hate, a hell of a lot more would be going on here. However, when there's a combination of a precedent set by one of our other moderators AND complaints, well, hell, what's one to do? Ignore it because I just might piss off one popular regular? Uh-uh. Not how it works. This is just like people management in many respects. Try to resolve something, and often both sides are angry afterwards. Or one side is perceived as "getting their way" and the other stomps off in a fit. It's just life. CCR, you're right about certain posters jumping ship for other boards. I wonder if the posting policies on those other boards have anything to do with it; at least a couple I can think of don't want you talking about anything but soccer, which isn't the case here.
I was informed that people are leaving this board because the jibberish thread "might" be moving. If this is the case, then the people in question are bigger losers than I could ever imagine.
I just did the math....on average 15-20% of the threads are non-soccer related now that all the Landon threads are merged(good move BM).....that's 70-75% of the threads you can post in so you don't have to deal with riff-raff.....quit with the whinning.....unless someone is plotting a murder or posting illegal porn pics in here then just quit with all the complaining.....our mods are doing fine. SJQF.....you really did over-react but I, and many others miss you anyway, please come back, RB.....i addressed your issue a few posts back, IBT.....anger management dude, I don't know what is worse, the landobimbos or your complaints about them.....This is just a message board, I hope you guys aren't as upset as you seem.
