So I posted this same idea up right before the last WC. It sort of worked in that most posters seemed to understand what I was trying to suggest. And that's clearly all it is, a suggestion, as I have no say over anything anyway....LOL

But thought I would try again for WC 2026. So here's my plea.

In the pre and post match threads can we please just discuss the actual match and the players involved. How the tactics we used worked and didn't work WITHOUT resorting to saying how such and such would have been better if Player X (who wasn't on the roster ) had been there.

The roster is what it is. We are now to the point where we will succeed (hopefully) or fail (hopefully not) on the 26 guys there and however Poch and company rolls them out to play. But IMO (and that's all it is) is that it will be way more fruitful and way less a bashing contest if we don't digress into the whole dearth of .....
well if so and so were there we coulda shoulda woulda. Kind of pointless. We have discussed the roster for weeks now and it is what it is.

Lets get on with the games and kick some butt.

This thread would have been better if superdave started it.

I would like to hear all relevant opinions relating to the match without censorship.

Yes, defining the topic of a thread on a private message board is censorship.

Agreed, but talking about a player who is NOT on the roster is NOT relevant to "relating to the match".

Also, having some regulation to the topics discussed in this forum is already set for this area to simply about discussing the USMNT. There are plenty of other forums to discuss whatever anyone wished.

There are plenty of other threads to discuss all points not related to the actual games about to happen. If it happens in them it will drag them down. I hope the admins parole those threads to keep them game related.

100% agree. It will never happen. People have their agenda's.

My concern is can the BS servers handle the post game threads.

You all can just skip over what you don't like.

    My plea:
Let @AutoPenalti start the game threads like he’s been doing for a couple of decades. Some of you are assholes that I have on ignore :D

But therein lies the issue. Get a couple of posters going back and forth on how so and so could have changed things or blah blah blah. And you have to wade through pages of that crap to actually read the pertinent stuff.

And would have been super if betterdave had started it.

Yeah, I will continue to force folks to wade through my mildly-amusing-at-best crap, cause it amuses me and this whole exercise is about amusement.

But I'll try not to do it in the game-day pre and post thread. (although, if I'm being honest, I'll probably do it there too.)

It’s destined to turn into the Musah show around here the moment something goes wrong. :ROFLMAO:

I think the group stage matches are safe, then let's see how far we advance and against which team(s).

Lets just use this as an example,

It is 100% conjecture for anyone to say that Musah might have done something different, not made such and such an error, etc. Total guessing and pointless but so easy to thump your chest and say "see I was right all along, Musah should have been on the roster."
