I'd planned on bringing my family down from Nebraska for today's event on the Plaza, which was called off for weather. My 6-year-old son is especially disappointed because he'd looked forward to meeting players and getting his face painted. He also wanted to play the skills games, etc., but the players and painting were most attractive to him. Any idea of this will be rescheduled, or if there will be something similar? We're especially interested in opportunities for him to meet the players (we can always paint his face here ). We hope to make it down for a game or two this season. We've not been to any KC match (or any MLS, for that matter) and don't know what to expect. Does KC do anything special for kids before/during/after games (e.g., meeting players, going on field, etc.)? Thanks in advance for any helpful answers.
Before the games there's a soccer celebration in the parking lot with the skills games and stuff. And then after the Saturday games there is a post-game party in the pavilion where you can go meet the players.
The games that they were going to have at the Plaza are the same ones that they have in the parking lot before the games. Is there a schedule of those post-game parties anywhere? Seems to me like they're awfully random.
I don't think the post-game parties are random. I'm pretty sure that they're every Saturday after the games, but I may be wrong. And during Saturday games they usually announce if they will have a post-game party or not.
dolphinscoach- I don't know how far away from KC you live, but props to you for being willing to take your kid here to meet the players. They do have post game parties after every saturday game and you can do the skills things before the games in the parking lot. Its right as you walk in.
Is it just me or does their one of their "just before the season starts meet the players party" get canceled every year because of weather? 3 years in a row now?
