    Single table, winner takes all.

    single table

i'd love to see a single table as well, with and only with that system would we know who is truly the best team.

I would have said (utopian) single-table a while back (although it would be a 36-game claendar!), but I think that the playoffs are the most fun/exciting for many teams, as well as most feasible. Also, Canadian teams don't participate in USOC.

The Impact recognise their regular season championships in 1995, 1996 and 1997, but it's the 1994 APSL Championship that everyone remembers and is proud of.

Consider the regular season like school, and the playoffs like exams. You need to get through your exams in style to have a good grade.

And I voted for top two in each division, which assures that the regular season means something and that there will be interesting playoff races and, especially, interesting first round grudge matches by assuring that you have to beat the other qualifier from your division (kinda like the NHL Flames and Oilers in the 80's). However, I think that the A-League will probably go to crossover playoffs (ie 1st in one division plays 2nd in the other) in 2004 - just a hunch.

    what about this

play a single round robin and then after that the top 10 teams play another round robin and the bottom 9 teams play another round robin also .

anyone know if they're still going to have the two game aggregate goal system for the playoffs?

I'm pretty sure they will, except the final.

Interesting to note that MLS, I think, has 1-off semis and final.
