People in DC area Will Summer's Resturant be showing MLS playoff games that aren't on ESPN? It would be nice to see some of those games since ESPN is not on the ball with the playoffs
I have no idea about Summer's. I do know that on Columbus' Web site, they not only list the Sport TV logo, but the Shootout one as well. I have a message out to try and get more playoff TV info.
Thanks monster. We of course appreciate any info you can get us. At this point I have a mole at Cox Cable here in San Diego, and I'll probably be calling him tomorrow to get an update.
Burn v. Rapids Rapids Front Office Sock-Puppet Drone: Hello? Me: Yes, TV information for Wednesday? Drone: What's going to be on TV Wednesday? Me: Your team, the one you work for, the Rapids, the playoff game, you know? Drone: Oh! Ok, hold on. 4 minutes later Drone: It's going to be on AT&T Channel 21. Me: What network is that? (knowing full well they didn't get Fox Rocky Mountain)(this is masochistic fun, isn't it?) Drone: ok, hold on again. 2 minutes later Drone: It's the AT&T Network. Me: AHHH, ok, thanks. Drone: Have a good day! +++++++ Bottom line: Rapids fans, I feel for 'ya. Your front office could give a rats ass. Also, where do I get this AT&T Network? I kept waiting for the drone to say the words "shootout" or "shootout only" which at least would have confirmed that the MLS employee was in the same quadrant of the galaxy where I'm residing. MLS owes the zealot fans; following this league passionately is more work than joy. -bs
The broadcast from Chicago this weekend was awful. You couldn't even hear the announcers - wait, maybe that's a good thing? I don't know since I could not hear them.
Re: People in DC area I checked Summer's website out, but their webmaster is on vaction- you'll have to give them a call to get the MLS play-off schedule from them. This is what I got from thier website: ( http://www.summers-restaurant.com/soccer_schedule.htm ) The webmaster will be on a much-needed vacation from September 20-29. This published schedule is up-to-date as of September 19. For up-to-date scheduling beyond September 26th, please call the restaurant at 703-582-8278.
Accoridng to MLS, all Games 1 and 2 will be on TV for this round. Game 3s are dicier because of the uncertainty but they are working on it. Hopefully more tonight ot tomorrow.
Updated according to official team sites: Wednesday KC at LA, 10:30 p.m. ET on MetroSports Clb at SJ, 10 p.m. ET Sport TV! Thursday Chi at NE, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2 Saturday LA at KC, 9 p.m. ET, KCAL Wednesday, 10/2 Chi at NE, 7:30 p.m ET, Fox Sports Chicago Ollie is reporting all games to be televised but the teams or MLS haven't announced that. Finally and this needs to be confirmed by MLS, but I heard that Dish will do Wednesday games in the playoffs this week unlike the rregular season so all platforms of the Shootout will get all the games.
Well, I could hear them, most of the time. It was particularly interesting to hear them comment on some replay that they were watching, but I couldn't see.
Re: Burn v. Rapids If you get AT&T cable in the Denver area check channel 21. They have shown a couple of games this way this season because of conflict with FOXRM davidfooty
Qwest? Or do you have no choice in your town? At least match 1 in COL-DAL is on that AT&T Channel 21. Match 2 I don't give a rats ass that it's not on local TV since I'll be there. I'll worry about match 3 as soon as I know there will be one.
www.soccertv.com click on USA at the bottom. The Burn-Colorado series goes as follows.. wed @ Dal- AT&T 21 (use common sense people of dallas, this means shootout, though it shouldn't matter since you should be there!) sat @ Col- KFWD 52 (thats us) wed @ dal if nec.-dunno yet. probably AT&T 21 again or FSRM
I have not been told otehrwise, but I would wait for the official MLS announcement sometime today, I would suspect.
Colorado-Dallas game now confirmed live tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. Eastern on AT&T Broadband. that means all four Game 1s will have local coverage. Awaiting MLS announcement about Shootout.
For those of us with Indemand, all three wed games listed live: http://www.indemand.com/listings/monthlySchedule.jsp?prodId=5692
Me too, but maybe they got tired of hearing from us and decided it was easier to do their job instead of waiting for us to tell them to. What ever it takes...
From what I heave learned, our efforts caught them quite by surprise. Here's my take on it: Our numbers on the sports packages are much lower than other sports. But the other ones have a greater percentage who buy the package to follow a specific team while the MLS package is mostly bought by people to watch games regardless of who plays. Other packages have this phenomenon, but the percentage is probably not close to that of the MLS. So if a game is missed on the NBA package for some reason, the odds are that a smaller percentage of subscribers will bitch. When a game is missed on the MLS package, close to 100 percent of people buying it will bitch in some way, shape or form. I think they have learned this lesson very well. It's not about following the team you moved away from. It's about following the sport. And that's also the reason I think MLS should look into starting their own channel to supplement the Shootout pcakage, a la NBA.comTV
http://www.mlsnet.com/special/mlscup/02/2002pog_pub.pdf Mother of a playoff media guide. All games 1 and 2 on TV confirmed. Only one game three confirmed on TV is KC-LA. Still no word on Shootout but haven't heardthat plans have changed.
