I figured starting a new thread would keep some clutter out of the end of season attendance threads. So .... Kudos to FCD for trying to get a good crowd for tonight's game: http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/socc...-playoff-tickets-if-world-series-is-postponed
One one hand, good on Dallas for trying to fill the stands. On the other hand, sort of sad that the playoffs require minor league sales technique to fill said stands.
LA Galaxy's first playoff game on Nov 3rd is capped at 15k tickets because of Cal State Dominguez Hills. That sucks.
Wow thats aweful, If the game were against new york, im sure they could easily draw over 30k... Im hoping that nfl stadium gets the green light to be built in DTLA. Cant come soon enough
That looks awesome. Can't wait to watch. I remember the USA Women's friendly against Mexico in...Salt Lake, I think. I had no intention of watching, but was flipping through the channels and saw soccer in the snow. Can't turn that down. Hopefully it snows a foot during the match.
That's a damn shame. The reasons for the compressed playoff schedule are certainly understood, but its too bad MLS couldn't convince ESPN to show the MLS Cup over Thanksgiving weekend. That would help clear up the playoff scheduling issues and allow the Galaxy to schedule at least one home game on a weekend.
Will the weather affect the Dallas game tonight? I am not familiar with how close PHP is from where the Rangers play.
From the pre game show, there are already more people in the stands than during the recent CCL game Dallas hosting of Toronto. Yeah I know, that's not much but its a start.
The rain delay that cancelled the World Series game was in St. Louis, so you probably don't need to worry.
Crowd has filled in nicely from kick off. If the camera side is filled the same as the side we can see, this should be over a 10k type crowd maybe.
Nice. Because I'm too lazy to look it up: 1) Is there sub-pitch heating? and 2) any more snow in the forecast? Also, are you guys expecting a pretty good crowd?
I might have guessed higher. As others have said, it didn't look too bad as game went along. From a TV perspective, I'll take it. Could have been a lot worse.
Midweek playoff games scheduled just three days after the end of the regular season are a tough sell for most MLS markets. 10,000 is pretty good for Dallas, but it doesn't exactly grab the sports world's attention. Although, the Dallas crowd looked on par with the Pittsburgh Panthers game on ESPN.
