I've never played football this far into fall so I was wondering what to wear. Last nite we had a bucketfull of snow dumped on us, and it looks like it's going to stay.

I have a pair of round multi-studs, or a pair of X-TRX SG (adidas)

it'll all depend on what the pitch is like. is it really hard? if so, don't wear screw in studs, they'll kill your feet...wear hard ground boots. is the pitch soft? if so, wear regular boots and if it's exceptionally soft then wear screw in's. whew...rocket science.

If you have a pair of dirty boots that are suited to the ground softness then wear them. You will magically find that they have become as clean as the day you bought them by the time you finish.

Also try not to fall over. Believe me, it isn't a pleasant experience.

You could take both your boots to the pitch earlier than the others and try out both of them to see which ones have better traction - just do some sharp turns and you'll know by the amount of pain in your butt! :) It's a great advantage playing in the snow if you have better traction than your opponent.

I there's a lot of really wet snow you'll want to pull plastic bags on your sockes in order not to get your feet wet. Wet and cold feet feel horrible!

If you have boots of natural and synthetic leather, I'd suggest wearing the synthetic once. Because from my experience snow and ice breaks real leather really quickly, and it takes in more water too.

very true...the baggies over the feet is brilliant...nothing like shooting a rock solid frozen ball with an ice cold wet foot.

and if you have synthetic boots...wear them...they won't get as saturated with water and won't get as messed up and ruined like leather will more than likely....also a good point GreenDay.

What do you mean by plastic baggies? Are you referring to Ziploc brand bags, or something like Saram Wrap? It sounds like a very good idea, but a little clarification would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Just regular plastic baggies you put your bananas in at the supermarket. :)

You have to be able to see field markings. If they can do it over snow like red paint. 6 studed should do the job.

Now how to play in it? You can't dribble in it, so chip the ball all over the place.

"nothing like shooting a rock solid frozen ball"

If that is the case the bladder can explode and you get a lopsided ball with a bladder sticking out of it.

Do like some German teams do have your players wear black panty hose.
