Bruce announced his 30 players for camp at HDC starting January 4th. This of course does not include the guys playing in Europe except for one (see Heath Pearce, below, who plays in Denmark where they take a break during January).

    http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=287651

Among them are (in alpha order):

    Brian Ching (2003-2005 Earthquake)

    Ricardo Clark (2005 Earthquake)

    Landon Donovan (pfffffffffffffffffft)

    Todd Dunivant (Stanford; 2003-2004 Earthquake)

    Chad Marshall (Stanford)

    Heath Pearce (Modesto, California)

Hopefully Heath will see some playing time during the Japan game. I am sure all his family and friends will be there for it should he make the game-day roster. Nice but superficial profile of him here:

His response to this question has me rooting for him:

    Notably missing is Brad Davis.

Am I missing anyone who has Bay Area or NoCal connections?

I look forward to seeing all of them in San Francisco against Japan. That way a good-bye could be said personally.

Why hold a grudge against Landon anymore? What's the use?

You going to boo Brian, Ricardo or Todd?

None of them are here anymore.

Mods, please rename this thread. "NoCal" is an LAism. At least he didn't say the game on 2/10 was going to be in "Frisco."

Never heard that before. I have seen many Quakes fans on this board use "NoCal."

More importantly, it makes for a much shorter thread title than one using "Northern California."

I think you're missing Jimmy Conrad from the list.

It's NorCal. NoCal is Jim Rome lingo.

I did not know Heath Pearce is from Modesto. Awesome.

Yep. Now one way of looking at it is that the kid was used by AEG and MLS as much as we have been.

i will never stop hating Donovan. i hate him worse than i hate Galaxy. and Brad Davis should have been called up. it is disgraceful that he isn't. he was/is the most underrated player in the league.

Thank you. It's freaking NORCAL! I see this used the wrong way everywhere.
