twitter said the first half argentina missed 5 chances and changed the whole team in the second half

but we're also seeing a pattern with placente

Yeah I didn't watch this one but American fans said they were lucky not to be losing in the first half fwiw. Still cool though. Maybe Chiqui is mufa.

    New Europibe?

21-year-old forward Nicolo Tresoldi, who is eligible for Argentina, Italy, and Germany.

    https://www.ole.com.ar/boca-juniors...mania-argentina-hincha-boca_0_qTEeW15Mgr.html

He’s currently tearing it up for Brugge (23 goals this season, which include celebrations against Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Monaco in the Champions League) and is being linked to Arsenal, Strasbourg, and other top clubs.

It is worth noting that he has already represented Germany’s youth NTs for a few years now, and even played for their U21 team 3 days ago (scored two goals). Nonetheless, one to keep on the radar as you know AFA is already attempting to move strings.

Apparently, we’ve been tracking him since 2023 or even earlier. I remember seeing an article a few years back saying that we have a program where 500–600 EuroPibes are being monitored. Out of those 500–600, so far only about three have received a call-up—Garna, Maffeo, and Paz—to the senior side. We have a few more on the sub-teams.

Nico has a father who represented us in ’98, which perhaps made the transition a bit easier. He wanted to represent us and felt a connection to the Selección. I guess Tresoldi’s story could be similar to Garnacho’s, but Garna said that he would travel back to Argentina when he was younger with his family. Even though Tresoldi says he feels close to Argentina, I don’t know…

Personally, I think he should just go represent the Tanos or the Krauts. He moved to Germany when he was 12 or 13 and will perhaps end up playing with them.

Maybe if he were more culturally tied to Argentina, I would change my mind. We can’t treat the Seleccion like a club side. I think what makes unique compared to most national teams, particularly Western European teams is that we culturally similar to one another. There is a bond that connects us as one.

I didn't mind Paz or Garnacho because both have some connection with the country, but Tresoldi doesn't give me the same vibes.

Besides, is it really that necessary? Julian, Lautaro, Lopez, and Panichelli, plus some others that I'm forgetting and some others that could appear out of nowhere like Panichelli did. I would understand a little more if it were a LB or RB, where we lack depth

Plot twist on South American u17 championship, last week Brazil beat Argentina 3-0 to topped their group but they lost 3-0 to Colombia in semi and Argentina eventually beat Ecuador 3-1 today and reached the final:D

Simón Escobar appears to be getting a lot of hype. We'll need a strong full back in the next couple of years, so let's see what happens.

I don't follow him but I've seen his name pop up here and there. I remember seeing him being linked to a couple of European sides. He plays for a smaller side from Santa Fe, so it is a reason why he is not being mentioned as frequently. But from everything I've read, he's done well this season.

He was the player who impressed me most at the U-17 WC last year. Albeit the rest of the bunch were pretty mediocre. Has very good technique for a left back.

Seems like these U17 World Cup’s will be held annually for the next 4 or 5 years. They’ll also be held in Qatar. Previously, they were biannually but they’ve been switched. I was wondering why there were qualifiers going on again.

The u17 lost and again finished the game throwing punches like in the Brazil game.

Kids that have no control of their emotions and can only answer with violence to frustration. Nothing more than a reflection of what has been happening in our society in the last few decades.

What is worrying is that such incidents have became more frequent in our youth categories over the last few years, I wonder if the grown ups in charge of these boys are doing anything to stop this trend.

    4-0 to colombia / 3 reds

    lose finals and tournaments

hire mascherano, hire another dt who has the winning gene to fail

clearly they are doing something right there and are preparing the pibes to be successful

or maybe they like to take pictures with tapia, messi, de paul and parades under an umbrella in ezezia imagining that 8th world cup star they will win

imagine looking up to the president and knowing they to can be something like that some day

Youth tournament success never go hand in hand with senior level success because most players doesnt peak until their early-mid 20s.

Its more about having experience playing to defend your country at young age.

Other than Messi , ADM & Aguero (2021) ,none of Scaloni's squad have any significant success at youth level.

That said our u17 attitude has been bad during this tournament , it seems that AFA is clearly busy and only care about milking as much $$$ from Messi retirement tour. Hiring competent manager isnt a priority.

Placente proof to be always folding when it really mattered. Bielsa at least won Olympics with 17-0 records.

I'm obviously being sarcastic because you would think the professionals and the adults would have the kids in check, but apparently no, we can't even depend on the 40 year old plus adults in charge to set an example

When they watch the likes of Romero and Martinez is it any wonder they lack any sense of discipline and self control. Disgusting behaviour.

Well, there are very different models in Messi and Alvarez at the same time. We should think about why they choose to follow those other examples (my guess is because it's the more normalized behavior in the inmediate social environment in which they grow up).

Seems forced, like someone’s mom or grandmother is in the next room with a sandal, ready to whip his ass if he does not apologize. I know Placente said he needed to apologize but this like a hostage saying how bad a certain country is...
