With how the modern game is being played with all these vertical transitions and counter pressing, I think they are good squad players to have and should be used in certain situations, but yeah, they've been given more importance by Scaloni than is needed. Scaloni values physicality which is great, but there needs to be a balance.

Scaloni also rates camaraderie more than anything... or at least more important than it should be at this point.

If you beat Argentina, Brazil, France and Spain to win a football tournament, at any level, yiu deserve it. Well done to Morocco

The team was embarrassing on and off the pitch as they got closer to the final

Not sure what placente was doing with them and what his brain was thinking going into the final
Clearly the morocco coach was miles ahead of him mentally and ability wise

VIllaba and Barbi are a disgrace

This isnt true at all. They played very good against Mexico and Columbia. Especially the defence.

    Anyway on to the U17.

Have you guys heard of Bruno Cabral? 15-year-old centerforward who just made some noise in the CONMEBOL Evolucion Cup (formerly the Sudamericano Sub-15)

Argentina lost the cup final on penalties to Brazil, but Cabral shined throughout the tournament scoring 10 goals in 5 games — including both goals in the 2-2 draw vs Brazil in the final.

In River he is just as on fire, with 34 goals scored in 26 games in the current season. Absolute animal! Last year he was also the top scorer of ALL the Argentine youth divisions.

Here’s how he describes his game:

Soy un jugador rápido en el uno contra uno, que tiene gambeta y potencia física. Llego seguido al gol. Y principalmente me gusta jugar para el equipo. Al ser segunda punta participo más del juego y puedo dar asistencias para que mis compañeros lleguen al gol”

    Definitely one to watch!

Anyone watching the u17s? 1-1 at half time vs Belgium. Not many chances for either side so fair result so far. Very early to judge but after 45 mins I’d say we have a good team with not a standout player. I like the look of our left back, Escobar from Velez. De Martis up front looks like another Gaich, slow and clumsy who will get found out easily at senior level. Belgium have 2-3 players with good technical quality and speed up top,

Disagree. Gaich has nothing on De Martis who's fast, powerful and isnt bambi when the ball is at his feet. De Martis has a lot of potential.

2-1 Belgium. We’ve been the better team all 2nd half but not much of a threat - again, no real individual quality showing in the last third.

These defenders are abysmal. Even in the South American u17 they were bad.

Unsure why Mattar isnt starting. Parmo, Barido not called up just doesn't make any sense.

Vamos 2-2. Substitute Jainikoski after great speed shown by Bouhier. Goal made at Argentinos Juniors.

For what its worth, this Belgium team is supposed to be one of the best teams at the tournament. Players like De Cat and Mokio are regarded as some of the best in Europe.

Those 2 subs from Argentinos made a real difference. Especially that run from Bouhier leading to 2-2 was quite something. De Martis off and the attacks is flowing (just kidding :)

Yea I just read they won't be released till the knockout stages. Shame, would've been a nice litmus test for some of the pibes.

Im really high on him he impressed me a lot last tournament but bad game from him. With Felipe and maybe Mattar starting next game hopefully he will get service.

Good first win against the toughest opponent in the group. That defence scares me though.

Facundo Jainikoski scored in both games for Argentina's U-17. The U-17 beat Tunisia and Belgium. The team will close group play against. . . Fijji? We will most likely finish top or our group, but won't know who we play in the knockout stage because the seeds are ranked. Let's see.
