It's not a team without a token white guy...I think we could find a use for Jeremy Wariner's speed.

How about the "if we only got the best US athletes we would have labor disputes"?

Besides... I'd put Shaq at forward, move moss to the right wing, Harrison at AM, and play a 3-5-2 with Dennis Rodman at CB...;)

Wariner's a good call. I'd also consider Tim Mack and Toby Stevenson.

Or Jeremy Bloom. Dude plays every other sport.

    How about Apolo Anton Ohno?

I like the looks of that squad, although I think I'd put Ray Lewis in the d-mid spot. :)

This is sooooooooo wrong. As Arena himself said the WC is a young man's game. Thus I think Gilbert Arenas and Larry Hughes would make an excellent forward tandem. Their speed, jumping ability, and their ability to steal would result in breakaway chances every game. As the a-mid, I agree with Nut that we should be giving Luke Ridnour a chance to grow into the role.

Did Arena really say that? It's hard to believe it when he's still got the likes of Reyna and Sanneh on the team (among other 30-somethings.) I'm not sure the statement is consistent with his actions then ...

Think instead of people who have nothing to lose, who have been shoved aside, are a little bitter. Chris Carrieri comes to mind.

I think this is exactly right. I think it will be hard for MLS players to cross, or anyone who is younger than mid 20's who thinks they have a legit shot at the MLS or nats pretty soon. But talented players for whom "things have just not worked out" who find themselves in the US but not MLS or struggling in not very well compensated leagues in other countries will be the ones who will be willing to play.

Finding them will probably put even coach Bruce's much vaunted multi dish video system to the test!

But when he scores he can shake his d!$k at them. And he won't care how much he is fined by the USSF. He's rich, homey.

I was thinking that if I fielded my team, it would be composed entirely of middle linebackers. How imposing would a team of Ray Lewis, Lavar Arrington, Brian Urlacker, Marcus Washington, etc. be? They might completely out play us but they wouldn't dare score. Ray Ray might even kill someone.

You guys posting football player lineups sound like you're living the world of the guys who think any good football player can beat those pansy soccer players. Do you really think a team of semipro soccer players wouldn't beat the crap of your all football lineup? I'm sure T&T got's plenty of guys who wouldn't fear those people at all and would relish the opportunity to turn them on a dime. I know you're joking, but, well.

You left out Lance Armstrong. He's meaner than the rest of them.
