Changing the subject, but I live in Britain and there us a channel called ITVX , on their site they have a world cup classics section. Anyway, I watched the whole of Argentina v England from '86, the one thing the English never mention is that Terry Fenwick should have had 2 red cards. He twice elbowed Diego in the face and head, Fenwick was booked in the first half and aside from the 2 elbows committed an outrageous foul on Valdano. Nothing from the ref.

Yep, Englishman, Tim Vickery remarked that he didn't even mind the Hand of God that much considering how dirty the English were.

Well, that's just the game. You have to adjust, do what is possible but not punishable. I think against Spain, Argentina has to really rough up the game, try to get under the Spaniards skins.

I know I should move on, but did we ever find out why Lavezzi was subbed at half time for the 2014 world cup final, he was the best player in the first half. Honestly, when you start to think about stuff it does your head in, like Pekerhead picking Scaloni and not Zanetti for the 2006 world cup squad. That's like someone pikcing a painting by Stevie Wonder over a Rembrandt.

Sabella did say that he took the risk on putting on Aguero (despite being unfit) because he's afraid of going into penalties against Germany. He basically threw the dice hoping we would find the goal. If Aguero's fully fit he might be able to do something, he did score upon coming in against France in 2018 but he's clearly carrying an injury. Wtf was this sh!t from Kun....

There's few other things which cost us the game, Di Maria's injury and Neuer escaping a red card for injuring Higuain. Even though Higuain missed a big chance early on, he and Lavezzi always looked dangerous on counter.

The funny thing is that Scaloni did the exact opposite. He got healthy Lautaro who scored and assisted crucial goals in previous matches but decided to benched him the whole game lol.

Even in 2018, Sampa ridiculous team almost tied France. How did he started Pavon and then replaced him with Meza while there;s prime Dybala on the bench?!

I'm still scarred by Pekerhead's subs in the game against Germany in 2006, genuinely don't think I will ever get over that. :D:D

If wasnt all the trophies we won in last 5 years, I'll probably would have quit watching football since 2021.

100%, all those finals we lost, mentally I just couldn't take anymore, I remember the dread I felt before the Copa final against Brazil in 2021, after that we entered some kind of Argentina fans dream state.

I would've kept watching but I would've been a lot more detached about it. This team rekindled the passion.

When the ref blew the whistle in 2021 final, I thought there's still 20 mins remaining. In fact sometimes I forgot that game didnt even go into ET, but it felt like an eternity cause its felt too good to eventually won a final. Not to mention its againts Brazil in Brazil.

Looking back at the 2014-2016 final losses and then the recent final... Di Maria's absence once again sticks out like s sore thumb.

The whole thing about Di Maria in 2014 is odd, he has said he could have played in the final, in the end he played no part at all. If he played we win. But we'll never know.
