Seriously though, Rafael gets injured pretty easily. Seems rather fragile player physically or not doing the correct physical workout program.

Hopefully Danilo will have his chance then, but like @Mengão86, I hope anyone but Daniel Alves starts.

    Bernard is pissing off Shakhtar....

It is complex situation with the civil war in Ukraine compounded by lack of playing time..
Every foreign player is trying to get away from Ukraine..

If someone is paying you tons of money to join a new company , you would leave too.. A soccer players career is short and he needs to maximize it to the best he can.. Cant blame bernard for that.. After his world cup performance it is clear he is a overrated player.. but that is besides the point..

Stop... he had an offer from Porto that was good. Lisbon or Ukraine... Let me think lol. Of course you'd get paid more money to work in Siberia than Miami, doesn't mean it's best for you.

So everyone's main goal should be maximizing their salary? It's not like any other offers were merely peanuts compared to offers made by the Russians or Ukrainians. Bernard and Vitinho had offers from multiple clubs and they chose the best $$, not the best overall choice.

Willian and Fernandinho are rare examples of players who were able to move on and progress their careers. They're solid players, but not the stars they were when at Shakhtar. There's a laundry list of players who've went to those countries and flopped elsewhere or remained "stuck" in those leagues. There's no excuse for any ignorance from anyone not knowing why they aren't being called up or were forgotten. It's a proven move to end or halt anyone's career.

I like Bernard as well but he deserved this. I do understand why he choose the Eastern Euro route though.

I was under the impression he had no choice from Atletico but to go to Shakhtar because they offered the most money. I don't even think he wanted to leave Galo because his interviews this time last year were giving that impression.

He visited Porto before opting for Shakhtar which means he had a choice.

In other news Douglas Costa going to be presented at Monaco in the next hours. He's a lucky few.

You are kind of right the club did "apply" pressure for the Ukraine move but he still had a choice.

Just Costa and not Teixeira? I was hoping they'd salvage both of them....

Of course he had a choice but when your club is pressuring you to accept so they can get money to help the club, its hard to say no.

Shakhtar owner has said before he buys Brazilian players so he can sell them for a profit. He once stated he would only sell Bernard for 70mil. He repeatedly stated Douglas Costa and Teixeira would only go for 50mil each per their buyout clause. All 3 of those players are nowhere near worth those numbers.

Willian was one of the few lucky ones to escape relatively early into his career. Douglas Costa too if they do end up with him. Plus Monaco is a selling club. A season or 2 there and then he can hopefully jet off to a stronger league.

Anyone think Lucas needs to get the hell out of Liverpool and fast? That club has done nothing for his career and I hope he moves to Spain or another English club that can get the best out of him.

When he first made the move to go to Liverpool I thought it was a bad move for his career. I wait a bit and see how the season progress and then decide as it not that long ago he was playing at a good level or pool.

Yes I think he should get out of Liverpool where he plays second fiddle to Gerard and is used to fill in where Gerard doesnt want to go. Leiva will never be a top player whilst playing for Liverpool.
