Just your thoughts on who you think will and should win.

Player of the year - should be Henry, but I've a feeling Shearer might get it.
Young player - it wouldn't surprise me if Rooney got it, but it should be either Jenas or O'Shea.

Shearer, Jenas and Wor Bobby to pick up player, young player and manager of the year.

Rooney although being hyped alot hasn't realy done much and carn't even get a place in the Everton first XI.

Jenas has been consistant and above consistant all year.

I wouldn't complain if Shearer and Jenas won, but David Moyes should be manager of the year by a mile.

The hype is why I think Rooney may win the award, which would be a travesty.

Player of the year: Henry, outside shot - cuddicini.

Young player of the year: Crime if it isnt John O' Shea, even with my red tinted spectacles off, the lads been immense all season. Can play in many positions and plays great in them all. The next Keane IMO. The cruyff turn against Leeds says it all! But no doubt the enlgish media's wet dream Rooney will get it :(

    Player: Beattie

    Youngster: O'Shea

    Manager: Moyes

    Team: Arsenal

It is the Moyes effect that has transformed Everton not Rooney. The lad is only 17. He will still be in the young player category for another 3 years. When he starts playing week in week out, which he probably will next season, and scoring 10-15 goals give it to him then.

Clan, I don't live and die with one team. I like watching quality football, period. Whether it comes from the likes of Real, Bayern, Juve, Valencia, Arsenal, Man U or the premier world teams, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, France, or Italy, matters little to me.

    Young Player: 1)Baros, 2)Riise

Is it just me, or is there something lacking in Brazilian domestic football? The pace looks rather slow.

Clan, I know it was a little stick. :) Baros and Riise have had very good years so far, although there are others worthy of mention, they are my picks.

They are too old as well i believe for the youth award...if they were good enough to merit selection in the first place.

    Changing teams=glory hunting ;)

This is to get the reds fans off his back after the Wildman mauling on the LFC forum last week.

Doesn't work. Like Wildman's support of teams it is transparent, weak, and short-lived.

Riise and Baros? Even ardent Liverpool fans wouldn't nominate either of them.

Baros hasn't been played enough, Riise has had an ordinary season by his standards.

    Next choices?

most of the posts on this thread are stupid. it's just people nominating players from their own team. in the interest of continuing the theme, here are mine:

    player: tore andre flo
    young player:stephen wright
    manager:howard wilkinson (good riddance)

ps. not to be taken seriously.

Clan, I'm not sure what the age limit is, but the Premiership site stated they were 20.

Kopite, not at all. I always call it like I see it. Baros has 6 goals in open play, so he must be doing something right.

Bellamy won the award last year, and he was 22 throughout the season, so I'm not 100% on the age limit. I always thought it was for a player aged 21 or under at the start of the season, but I have a feeling that there might be no specific rules, and it is just left to the voters common sense as to who would be eligible.

Good point about Bellamy-but, isn't Rise closer to 25?
I always though it was U21 for the youth award.

I wonder if it might be that a player has to be eligible to play for the under-21's, as they work on a two year cycle (alongside championship campaigns) and so some 22 year olds are still able to play at that level. Bellamy might have fallen into that category.

Player of the year should be Henry, but I would like to see Beattie win it if he can finish off the season strongly.

Young player of the year - my vote goes to O'Shea. He's going to be an excellent player for years to come

Manager - If it isn't Moyes I'll cry for days. But if Southampton can pull off a FA Cup victory, it will more then likely go to Strachan.

Fan of the year goes to me!!!

Shearer or Henry? Shearer or Henry..............

Despite being a Gooner I've loved MagicAl since I was a kid.

Still too early to call, we've got two months left to play and this is when the real men show themselves.

Let the most deserving candidate show himself as such, now.

I think Strachan should get it. Southampton are a smaller club than Everton and Strachan's incessant yelling has them playing very well. Moyes has certainly done a good job with Everton this season, but Everton is a bigger club.
