    "Mandy's World"

This item was near the bottom of today's U-T "Goal!" article (which was about twin boys trying for the NMT U-17 squad):

    Mandy's world

USDHS alum Mandy Clemens, the former college Player of the Year from Santa Clara, has had an interesting few months since the WUSA announced its demise. Clemens, 25, began the fall as the La Jolla High boys coach, then had to leave when she was chosen to be on the ABC dating show, "The Bachelor." Word is, Clemens was nearly picked for "The Bachelorette" last year, but ABC producers decided instead to have her as one of 25 women trying to win the heart of the next bachelor, who recently was identified as 25-year-old NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer, a backup last season for the New York Giants. The fifth edition of "The Bachelor," which is being filmed in Los Angeles, begins airing in April. Clemens was unavailable for comment.

    Re: "Mandy's World"

have to rant here... one more reason why the league needs to get back on track... if she ends up being known more as the bachelorette who wins the contest she'll be more known for that rather than a player from the Philadelphia Charge/San Jose CyberRays...

Then again, there was a certain Miami Heat cheerleader/physical therapist who ended up with fame, fortune, and love but she didn't play in the WUSA...

I'd rather see ol Mandy participate at the upcoming WUSA festivals than reality TV...

    Cheers!

As a friend of Mandy's, I hope she does well on the Bachelor. Yeah it's reality TV but a girl's gotta make a living and experience life to it's fullest. I know that she wouldn't do it for shameless self-promotion, just gotta get out there and try new things in life. Plus I'm sure that we'll be seeing her sport alot of WUSA wear, which can't be bad. I'm sure that she'll pop in a league somewhere and maybe April will get a clue. Yo go, Bronco Girl!! Miss ya back in Philly, maybe ya could bring your boys back east to play my HS team? :)

Doh! I forgot. Confidentiality agreement. The show is taped, but if the prospects (better word here than "contestants") are eliminated, they can't by contract/agreement divulge the result.

(especially with the ones in the previous installments taking bets on who would "win" the Bachelor/Bachelorette, and I admit that I don't watch the show.)

If the players return next year, she becomes a "hot" commodity next to a certain player/model/celeb named Heather...

*sigh* wishing for top flight women's soccer again... cheers!
