Those are not miadidas, they are painted orange f50s. Lots of Xolos players do that to their boots. Not sure if they get extra money for it, but I know that the team tends to stick to red boots.
100% know for certain. It was a topic that came up when I shot this game: http://www.jafferino.com/SanDiegoFlash/sdflash1/20794264_bwJXDn#!i=1650547687&k=WQw3Mq5 Edit** In fact, here you go: http://u.goal.com/162500/162510.jpg
Yea it is. Like I said, I wish I knew if they were being paid more to wear red boots. It definitely limits their choices and forces them to paint their boots. In the photo I posted even the youth and reserve teams do it.
Some decent close up pics of Kaka in the new Pred LZ on SoccerBible. http://www.soccerbible.com/news/boot-spy/archive/2012/04/03/Kaka-Trials-New-adidas-Predator-LZ-Football-Boots.aspx
Watching chelsea v benfica......y does aimar were disguised puma/mizuno? Is he contracted 2 puma or mizuno?? Whats the deal?
Surely he's got to be sponsored by Puma seen as his boots are sporting their logo despite the fact they are clearly Morelias. I figure he must have signed up with Puma, none of the boots were to his liking so he's sorted out some deal with them where he's allowed to wear whatever he wants as long as they've disguised as Puma. That way he gets to wear what he's comfortable with and Puma still get some advertising, on the face of it anyway, i'm sure most people would just take them as being some sort of Puma King. I cant see why Mizuno would pay him to wear them boots only to let him disguise them as another brand and offer them virtually no advertising as a result. I do find it strange that this situation has come up at all though, surely Aimar would've had chance to test different boots out before signing a deal so why end up with Puma if you dont like any of their boots? Why are Puma willing to pay someone that doesn't actually wear their boots? He cant exactly be desperate for the extra cash considering how long he's been in the game so why doesn't he just wear what he likes instead of what pays the most?
More pics and info (albeit in portuguese) here: http://www.sochuteiras.com/2011/08/pablo-aimar-o-contrato-com-puma-e.html
Just done a google translate on the link above.....seems he always wore Mizuno, even back to when he played with Valencia. Says that he was made Puma brand ambassador in Portugal in Oct 2010. Thinking he cant be contracted to Mizuno, just what he wears & likes & when the Puma deal came round hes seen the dollar signs!! I guess to the untrained eye its a pair of puma boots & thats what Puma want ppl to see.
Also Mark, what are your opinions on Danny Batth now? FourFourTwo say hes our best player, and he's been fantastic this season on loan to us. Definitely Mr. Consistent. Do you think with relegation seeming almost set in stone now, that you'll be playing him in your first team next year?
He hasn't worn them for a while. He wore Laser III at Burnley, then started off in Obsidian Vapors or Superflies when he first came to Wolves, he swapped back into Laser III's at half time on his Wolves debut against Stoke. He'd took a knock on the foot so guess he swapped back to the more comfortable boots, first time he got the ball 2nd half he smashed an effort on goal from about 30 yards then went off because of the foot injury. He stuck with the Vapors/Superflies until the Laser IV came out though and he's been wearing the synthetic Laser IV all season, wore the KL blue ones for the first time last week. Seems he's at least considering swapping back to Vapors now, though having said that a lot of players at Wolves seem to wear different boots in training than they do on a match day. Several players, like O'Hara and Stearman, seem to train in Adizero's but then swap to Adipowers for matchdays.
I've only ever seen him a couple of times in cup games and pre season friendlies against pretty poor teams. I've never thought he looked anything special, he's good in the air, bit slow on the deck and his distribution seems to be agricultural at best, pretty much your standard football league centre half. Its been a while since he played a game for Wolves though so i dont know how he's developed in his time at Wednesday, think the lack of pace will probably stop him getting to the top of the game. Could get some games in our team next season though seen as we're coming down, would probably need someone better on the ball alongside him though so we aren't just hoofing it long all the time.
I'm certain he'd do a better job than Wolves' current centre backs! He's a big strong lad, young, he isn't the slowest centre back either (that accolade goes to our other big centre back, Rob Jones) and he doesn't really put a foot wrong ever. Popped up with a few goals too. Would be delighted if we could sign him permanently.
Affirmative! Looks like Umbro is keen on getting a contract with him or that he has found new love with Umbro. Nice spot, mate.
