I'm starting a player rumors thread - that I am sure will beat some down. But I'm starting the thread in the desperate hope that FCD is not done. Player rumor du jour: Kevin Hartman - rumored to be going to FCD by Steve Goff - http://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/
Really, another keeper? Hartman? I guess that goes with SH rule of having competition for every position, but really?? I'm still hoping for a Forward signing...
Hartman sounds OK to me........depending on the price. Were people comfortable with Lambo being #2 after Burse left?
According to Goff's twitter feed...it's official - we've signed Hartman. @SoccerInsider "Following up on our report about Kevin Hartman this morning, he has, indeed, signed with FC Dallas. Rights acquired from Kansas City #mls" I think this is a good signing depending upon price...we needed a solid backup to Sala and Hartman is about as solid as they come.
Damn Buzz gets it first.....I have mixed feelings. So, can we now move on and get a Forward to help out JC9??
I received it figured out now. He can play striker, but only if you make him the 6th attacker jersey and he roams out of the box, I feel a game changer coming now (use the flying "v" formation and we're unstoppable"///
What about Claudio López? KC didn't renew his contract.... I think it would be a nice option if the misteryous Uruguayan forward fails.... Last year he scored 7 goals and gave 8 assists! http://kc.wizards.mlsnet.com/player...r=lopez_c&playerId=lop170685&statType=current
Uruguayans are strongest hottest people and proven scoring machine, can't go wrong. Lopez want too much, Wizards let him go.
Anyone playing for Cerro, Atenas ( from my hometown ), Deportivo Maldonnado, Wanders, Liverpool and Rampa Jr ...you get under 50k. Players from Danubio, Denfesor and River Plate around 100k. Nacional and Penerol players are over 400k or DP price range. Uruguayans went Centrel America or MercoNorte part South America for less 30k a year. Don't forget Uruguay is third behind Argentina and Brazil exporting players Abroad. I remember Di Austini played only 3 months Libya and became a Libian citizen and is starting keeper for Libya.
Appreciate the info. We are being told about some Uruguayan soccer blog that reported our coach, Schellas Hyndman making a trip to Uruguay to sign one of these strong, hot, goal scoring types. Man do we ever need one. Some have speculated about Abreu who is bouncing from club to club. I think he was last scoring goals for Botafogo (BR). At 33 years of age, he would spell another senior citizen on our strike force nicely.
Abreu nearly came to the Rapids, but Rapids offices didn't want spend money DP, told Clavijo forget about it. Abreu wanted to live part-time in South Florida and part-time Colorado....a live of partying and enjoying getting tan at the beach or camping and skiing....the Uruguayan lifestyle.
There's a reason Abreu's club career has been the following: 1996 Defensor 1996–1997 San Lorenzo 1998–2004 Deportivo La Coruña 1998 → Grêmio FBPA (loan) 1999–2000 → Tecos (loan) 2000–2001 → San Lorenzo (loan) 2001 → C Nacional F Montevideo (loan) 2002–2003 → Cruz Azul (loan) 2003 → Club América (loan) 2004 Nacional Montevideo 2005–2006 Dorados Sinaloa 2006 CF Monterrey 2007 San Luis 2007 UANL Tigres 2008 → River Plate (loan) 2008 Beitar Jerusalem 2008 River Plate 2009 → Real Sociedad (loan) 2009 Aris FC 2010– Botafogo Yes, that's 20 different club stints since 1996. He gets passed around like an STD, and there's a reason for that. There's not a chance in hell I'd want him on FCD.
Not that bad............ Jeff played for 5 MLS teams in 10 years. I'm not as desperate to get another striker into FCD as other people are. If it looked like Cunningham was going to the WC, then I'd think it was completely necessary. But as of right now, that doesn't look like it's going to happen. FCD was torching teams during the second half of last season, with essentially this same group of attacking players (minus VDB apparently for this season.) If they can't find a guy who's the "right fit" at the moment, then so be it. Maybe they can get a better fit this summer following the World Cup.
So Buzz...do I need to wait on confirmation from you before acknowledging that the players voted to strike if a new CBA isn't reached? ;-)
not so much, I'm not hooked into the voting. I can probably find out how FCD players vote though. I just happened to get the Hartman thing on my own and confirmed it on my own. It was only after that I saw Goff also had it. He beat me by a little, but I still reported it independently. I'm not a pro, I think I do good work, and big soccer is one of the few methods of "advertising" I have. So I tend to pimp myself here if I think I deserve credit on something.
Apparently I should have said "yes you do." http://www.3rddegree.net/2010/03/12/dont-panic-the-union-did-not-vote-to-strike/
