So Stam goes to Milan for about 10M Euro....now Lazio needs to invest in a pair of young defenders... Barzagli from Chievo makes some sense as a start. We'll see how the money shakes out, they've been talking about a "capital investment" for months...if nothing positive happens than the likes of Fiore and Corradi could go and we'd be finished...
Peruzzi is now rumoured to be headed to AC Milan. Lazio are also said to be looking at the Empoli striker Di Natale and are interested in Chevanton so it wouldn't shock me if the rumblings that were heard about Corradi going to Juve turn out to be true.
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may25f.html So is this the end of the upcoming season, seeing Corraddi leaving???
I've seen it written that since the new "capital increase" is slowly trickling in, Lazio will consider selling corradi and fiore. To me thats a disaster, they simply dont have the young talents ready to step in...they cant be a Udinese or Parma without the young blood. Now if they'll use that cash to bring in 4-5 young quality players at least you can see a plan developing (one step back for two forward). However, Corradi is just breaking into the National Team and making a big splash as a full-time starter at Lazio. Why give that up to be the 4th striker at Milan?...
We could potentially manage without Corradi, although leaving to be fourth choice at Milan is stupid. I can't think of a better team than Lazio at which you could get a shot at prominence. We're short of depth, play in Europe, and are well known. What else does a player need? If we lose Fiore........that would be very, very bad. Truly bad. We lack the young talent to replace these players. Lets hope that capital is going to come soon. What happened to those Russian fellows that wanted to buy Roma? We're for sale! I don't think I'll post in this thread too much, because its just too depressing.
rather than write in 3/4 different threads, here's my best guess on the expected mass player exodus. Fiore/Corradi to Valencia....clears our last remaining international debt (after which UEFA gives Lazio its CL money from last yr) and nets a few million euros. Mancini and Cesar end up at Inter...for about 8M in cash plus a striker (Cruz or Kallon) and an average defender like Adani. Albertini and Inzaghi to Fiorentina...no big loss. I would guess C. Lopez goes also, maybe also to Inter with a young player in return. Oddo to Juve in a swap deal for Maresca has been rumored, love to see that as someone is going to have to create out of midfield in place of Fiore...
It would be nice to see Lopez go. He's another one that never really did much, unless you count the first 5 months of the 2002-03 season. Is anyone seeing the conection between Lazio and players bought from Valencia?
https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121963 Enzo Maresca should not be given up by US. If you get him, you get one of, if not the finest young creative Italian midfielder available, but he's not for sale. Young talent is exactly what Lazio needs. They need players who will be hungry for success and unafraid of task at hand. Even though it may only be for the oppurtunity to move to a massive club (wud say big club but Lazio are a big club with troubles). Andrea Barzagli (CHIEVO VERONA) Cesare Bovo (LECCE)now i believe at Roma ruling out his chances of Lazio. Giandomenico Mesto (REGGINA) Stefano Mauri (BRESCIA) Andrea Caracciolo (BRESCIA) All wonderful players who could be tracked and signed for minor fees but provide great strength to team.
thats a good list for sure, I've been trumping for Barzagli for a while now. I hope something can be worked out with Lazio-owned Baronio maybe staying at Chievo as part of a deal for him. Caracciolo would be ideal as a target type striker to replace Corradi, he fits that bill if I'm remebering correctly... We'll see, as of now Cesar, Oddo and Lopez are going on the preseason training tour of Japan. Even if they are sold, perhaps funds would be acquired to land some of these youngsters...
Hopefully, our best youngster decides to stay after Lotito saved the club. It would be a shame to let this kid go who is considered to be Italy's best player for his age! http://www.laziofever.com/news/EpApkVluukFMdwIyaZ.html
who cares, albertini is way past his prime and wouldnt have been a starter with the likes of liverani, giannichedda and dabo in the center of midfield. In loan moves, Lazio appears close to adding young striker Portillo from Real Madrid. And they are rumors (see the juve board) of Miccoli coming from juve with 7M for Cesar.... I think adding young talents on loan is smart, but long term will there be money to buy these players out right?...
Arrrgh. Looks like Portillo is going to Fiorentina. Sigh. You'd think we'd be a better loan target since we're short of players AND we didn't just get promoted.
Here is an idea: Every Lazio match have 2 lucky supporters seat # called over the PA.....You have just been selected for the starting XI, get suited up! LOL.....it could work and do a world of good for the financial problems.
