--> Casey Schmidt also signed on with the Rapids officially.

Mod's note: What part of post a link don't you understand? That's twice.

Both players have decent height. I don't know if Borchers can use his height to use his head on corners, but if he can, this would help in an area where the Rapids were quite deficient last year.

    ??

As developmental players would either actually see the field? I understand with roster space at a preminum it was a way to bring them on board but if these guys were really in the plan wouldn't they have been signed to real roster contracts?

Foss was a great college goalie when I saw him at SMU. His last game, Smu down 1, Foss runs way out of goal, past the halfline so the Mustangs were throwing all their men at St. Johns. Some St. Johns guy steals they ball, and scores on a 75-yard lob downfield. Ok, that doesn't show that he's good, but he is.

Any Rapids fans care to comment on Jackson? He always struck me as a hustling college player who was going to have a hard time transitioning to pro ball, but that was based on only seeing him play a few times. Any particulars on what happened at Colorado?

    Saw this on MLSnet

THE NEWS: Mile High Club on Tuesday signed rookie Casey Schmidt to a multiyear contract. After going to Colorado as the 48th pick overall in the draft, Schmidt has been tearing it up in preseason, banging in something like 71 goals already.

TCS SAYS: I hear the kid is a bit of a sniffer and his hot streak couldn’t have come at a better time for his career. Let’s see if he can produce (or gets the chance) when things go live next month. Unfortunately for Rapids faithful I also hear that another Colorado pick-up, Zizi Roberts, is not working out very well at all.

    Foss

Foss is a very solid keeper, I watched hime during his last two years of HS and club and watched him at SMU whenever I could, he can be a monster.
He was playing in southern California for the last couple months in a offseason league with the OC Blue Stars, he played really well and he also got to try out his German with fellow teammate Mr. Klinsman.

He will be a solid backup and probably will be a starter for someone someday soon.

Man, Steve Shak never panned out did he? #1 pick, never really played much, either in Col. or NJ.
